weird mystery symbol???

today as i was walking home i spotted a strange object in my path: a piece of hardened yarn or string of some sort that was formed into a shape i've never seen before. it was like a lowercase letter "t" with a smaller letter "k" attatched to the bottom righthand side. it didn't look as if someone deliberately shaped it that way, but it doesn't seem like a natural form for string to take. i didn't recognize the symbol as a rune or anything else, but for various reasons, i feel that it must be significant somehow. can anyone tell me what it might mean, or if they've seen a similar shape before?

Without being physically able to view the shape, I'd guess that the "k" part could represent the rune Kenaz - the internal fire or guiding light. However, I don't know what the lower case "t" could represent.

I practice Reiki and it also sounds like it may resemble a Japanese symbol. The symbol meaning "origin" would be the closest one.
