View Full Version : Based on image before sleep...

...I was trying to get to sleep, but I had images from The Ring (scary movie that was...) and I felt very paranoid, so I whispered and asked for the Goddess to hold me in Her warm arms and banish these thoughts.
...Well She did. I felt like I was being held, and rocked, and when I closed my eyes, I saw Her lying on this round, deep bed with lots of comfy-looking sheets and pillows, and She was holding me. She had long, curly brown hair, and fair skin. I wanted to know if anyone knew a particular Goddess that may fit (at any range, any culture..yah) what I saw.

~Thanks,
Caitlin

Since the description of the goddess was not too specific, it could fit many European goddesses. We can find comfort in most goddesses, so the goddess could be from any given pantheon. Your image sounds so peaceful and comforting. You should consider yourself fortunate to have such a gentle goddess by your side. :)

*smiles* I do, I am straining to remember Her face......kinda hard.....maybe I'll be granted with another image of Her. I'll read into more pantheons from Europe. My mother's friend from work just gave her a book of celtic mythology (which I will be taking from her lol) and I'll look through that....hm thankez!

Good Luck, Faery Song! Hopefully, you will find the answer to your question. :) Who knows, the answer may be in the Celtic mythology book. If it isn't, at least you will have good entertainment and maybe even become fond of a particular god or goddess. Also, if you don't find your goddess in a book, try meditating. Maybe she will visit you again.

FaerySong, check out the thread by One Eyed ( it's very recent, also on the Gods/Goddesses forum), there, he speaks of the his recent experience with the Goddess...he gives a description of Her...perhaps you'll find some similarities..

also, which Pantheon are you most comfortable with? Which Goddesses are your patron Goddesses? perhaps answering these questions may lead you to a more or less clear idea of who exactly it was...
...
as for me, every time i come across something/ someone who's not really of 'this' world ( you know what i mean)- i want to know who they are, so i ask...or try guessing and see if i'm right!!!

hehe, you know, after i watched the Ring, i felt like you did- all scared, and unsafe...so i cast my circle of protection and called upon my Mother Goddess to comfort me...She did!! :)

I don't have any patron gods or goddesses yet... But I am comfortable with alot of the European pantheons, like Celtica and Greece.. well I will check out that thread...

FaerySong, hopefully, some of the threads are helpful here if you want to find a particular pantheon or deity. If you have any questions about the European pantheons, just ask. Members offers such good advice on this site.

The European pantheons are closely related. Many of the gods and goddesses are the same; however, they have different names in different cultures.

Did you try meditating, by chance?

Yeah, I've learned so much from being here. I haven't really meditated for Her, because I've been getting really upset lately over stuff, and I didn't want some of my sad/angry/frusturated energy leaking up to Her. Thank you all for your help.

Oh yeah, I was looking through this thing I have on Irish/Welsh/ect gods and goddesses and I saw the associations of Brigid and I thought She sounded alot like the Goddess I would like.... if anyone could give a description of Her that you know, that'd be very nice. She prob. doesn't have brown hair, but I will go to the library this weekend and look up some Gods and Goddesses.

Happy Yule!

If you are interested in learning more about Brigid, there are loads of links on this site at the moment. You may have missed them, since Brigid goes by a few different names including Brighid, Brid, Brigantia, Brid, Briginda, Brigdu
