Has anyone here heard of a National Honor Roll? If so, what exactly is it? I didn't exactly know where to put this...so I put it here. Any information on it would be well appreciated,thanks!

I think it's like your schools honor roll, on a national level. Like for people who have 4.0's and better!!!! IF you got nominated Conragtulations, that's a major accomplishment!

My kid is in the National Merit Society and has won awards for English and Science.
I would imagine the National Honor Roll would be much the same.
Have you been nominated for something? When the oldest first got his letter in the mail I was very leary. Then I found out that his teachers had submitted his name.
Don't send any money till you investigate and find out just exactly what it is. But do check into it and find out all you can.
My oldest can apply for scholarship monies through NMS and the only money I've ever sent to them was to buy the "yearbook"

yeah,i did get a letter in my mail about it. I just filled out a paper for it,but I dont know how I would get it.......my gpa is around 3.5.......and Ive done nothing outstanding. Thats why I asked you guys about it, I was kinda leary wondering what it was ect..

I'd go for it. I've heard of the national honor roll, it's a good thing to get your name into, plus it looks good on college applications! Congratulations again!

Yeah, anything that looks good on college applications are is worth looking into.

3.5 is the criteria for National Honor Roll I believe, and 4.0 for the
President's honor roll. Have been on both(brags) but am now down
to around 3.2? Dang algebra!

Dude, I have a 2.55 and got on National Honor Roll this year. Its weird. My PSATS were 1500 something though..

I know a bunch of people who got National Merit (one of the semi-finalists and a few people who got it). It looks *really* good on college apps, and you can get scholarships from it.

Kenny was nominated for a national merit.....long time go.....and one of his friends actually made it...........:D
