I found this online and wanted to share it:

Fortunately, none of my kitties are in need of it right now. But it is heartwarming to know this exists. Somewhere, Bast is smiling.

That was brought to my attention some time ago on another list. Thanks so much for posting it. It really is a comfort when one loses a pet.
When we lost our Petey, who we'd had for 14 years and may have been 20 years old because we had no idea how old he was when we got him - another cat appeared less than two weeks later who is so much like him it seemed that he just found himself another body. We've had Buddy for three years now and he's sleeping at my feet.

Thanks for posting this. I have 2 kitties, 11 and 13, plus a 1-year-old my former neighbors abandoned when they moved. I'm trying to find a new home for the little one, because she and Miss Weenie don't get along at all. They're in good health now, but anything can happen.
I wish I'd known about this site when we lost our beloved tuxedo cat Chester last May. It was 3 horrible weeks from the time he was diagnosed with lymphoma until he died, purring, in my arms. I still miss him terribly. Think I'l go have a good cry now.
