I hope this is an acceptable topic...with all the kitty-oriented threads I saw, it inspired me to post to you all about why I love my cat Arthur sooooooooo much. :D

I have two other cats as well, but Arthur's the one I'm closest to, so here's why I love him.

He's the only cat I got to name. He's always soo affectionate and when he wants to sleep on my lap he makes this cute attempted meow where his mouth opens and only a squeak comes out. He wakes me up in the middle of the night by purring into my ear. He's the only animal out of our three dogs and three cats who always runs to me when I call him. He's also quite mischievous and likes to knock things over--and if another family member yells at him for doing so, he seeks solace in my room. When doing yoga and attempting a particularly difficult asana, he rubs against my legs and makes me topple over, dissolving me in laughter for minutes at a time and saving me from actually having to complete aforementioned asana. He loves books..er, loves to eat them, and rolls around in my chalk drawings until he's blue and purple for days afterwards.

I should really NOT intake sugar before I post here. :D

Anyone else have cats that rock? Please share! :D

No more frappachinos for me. ;)

If I want to rock with my kitty, I've got to pick her up and rock her myself. She prefers standing on my shoulders to being held while dancing, and is the only kitty I know that fetches. She
started indoors as a kitten, and now wants me to toss the balls as far as possible out the front door. She always brings them back to me to throw again.

My cat thinks my new rocking chair belongs to, yes, HER. I have to remove her if I'm going to have a moment to enjoy it. Grey Lady is my precious angel, though. I rescued her from the dumpster Beltaine2000. *shudder* She's about 9 years old, declawed and spayed ~ and the sweetest, most loving, most giving cat I've ever been around. I'm more than glad we hooked up. :D I'm blessed!;)

he picked me to live with. I found him last Sept. meowing under my window all night long. At first I thought he was my neighbor's cat (they had 21). But he wanted to live with me!!!!!! His name is Toby (or as my son calls him Tobias T. Cat). He's about a year and half now. For an orange tabby, he has the fluffiest tail ever. That's why he rules, at least in my house.

I have two kitties, Sushi and Kelly.
Kelly is about ten years old, has chronic bronchitis (sounds like Darth Vader and coughs nastiness up), is so gentle I can clip her claws when needed, and still has an 80-lb dog so scared of her it won't go by her in a stairwell. The dog sat in the steps whining til my mom moved the cat. She's a perfect black Witchie kitty, and likes to hop on people's laps while they're on the potty. ^_^
Sushi is a big stripey orange kitty who has the run of the neighborhood...He has hopped into a neighbor's van while they were packing the kids for sports, and in another neighbor's house. (Glad we have nice neighbors, now that I think about it.) He loves to sit in the tub with the curtain closed after someone's taken a shower, and has tried to hop in the sink while I was brushing my teeth many times.

Wah!!!! I'm allergic to kitties, but I love them. :( I guess I'll just have to settle for the wild life outside.

My cat, who actually lives with my mother along with her cat, well, he is really cool, he loves milk and whenever we drink tea or coffee he sits at a chair next to the table and waits until we are done, and then he gets up on the table and drink whatever milk is left in that little jug... unforutunatly his head is bigger than the jug so he's gotta use his paw to get the milk up... and it taste so much better this way than any other way =)

He also loves cookies with nuts in them, he'd really do anything to get them, he even opens the cookie jar with his teeth and paws to get to them =)

Well... I guess you've got to see it to appreciate it =)

Blessings

My kitten's name is Tybalt, also known as Tybs, Tybby, Tybbers. He's the runt out of our barn cat's 3rd litter, 1st surviving litter. Tybs is a black/grey, and he'll come running when you call for him. He's very active, much more than his 3 siblings. This morning when I was feeding the calves, I had put down a pail and he'd pounce at my hands. He's a very smart cat. He was the first one to be taught how to drink out of a dish, and understands many voice/action commands. Well, not really commands, rather requests.... He's soo cute. I can't wait for Smokey's next litter.

My kitty cat rocks because out of all the places to have her kittens her first choice was my back her second choice was my lap and when we made her use the closet she handed me her kittens as soon as they were clean. She also handed me one she didn't have time to clean because the next one came too soon. She rocks!

My cat Louie rocks, because she also chose to live with me. There was a large litter from a stray outside a house owned by a friend of a friend. When he heard that I wanted a cat, he took a cat basket down, left it open on the lawn and Louie jumped in, ready to go wherever. When she got to my house, she found the litter tray immediately, ate all the food I had placed down, and sat on my lap. She soon developed cat flu, which I nursed her through. Now at about 8 or 9, (the vet said she was stunted and therefore appeared to be much younger than she actually was), with a head too small for her rather bulbous body, and a tail an inch or so to small (got it caught in the door), she rules the house. She plays tricks on our three year old daughter and friends, sleeps in bed (yes under the duvet) every night with me, she reconnects the internet by lying across the keyboard, and all the other things that make us laugh. I just love her so much.

and then there is "diva" who lives at my house, her main characteristic is her amazing patience with my "almost 6" grandaughter who delights in lugging her about the house, sometimes remembering that cats are more comfortable being carried when their hind feet are supported. somehow diva almost never scratches little erika no matter how sorely she is tried. and if she does scratch it's a little "warning" not a real clawing.

The Big Russian Blue that took pleasure in attacking dogs would not even think of harming a child. They could tug on his ears, tail, paws, lug him around like a rag doll and he would comply. If he was miffed he would give them a "closed paw" bat and growl, but then he would nuzzle to let them know it was only warning.

Weird, how a cat that no doubt has quite an honor guard in hell would be so loving to a child. Cats know, yes they do!

my cats name is kitty....we got her from a shelter we volunteered at....my mother-in-law got her for us as a housewarming gift as we had just moved out of her house into our own (she was quite happy when that happened!!!) Her origional name was Kora but she did not like it and would only answer to Kitty...so it stuck!! She also comes when you call her....her vavorite food is chicken tenders from burger king....mcdonalds is ok...but burger king she just can't resist....if you leave them on the coffee table to go to the bathroom or get a drink or something she will definately come up onto the table and grab one...a full one...which is about the size of her head...and trot away with it!! She's pretty slick....she also likes to tease the dog...(he's a terrier mix...looks just like Toto from the Wizard of Oz) she waits until she knows we are not looking and will run up and pounce him and then meow really loudly so that we think the dog is messing with her and we yell at him!! she knows what she's doing!!! I love my girl...I call her my angel......she likes that...she has been known to answer to it:) I love my little girl!! :D
