View Full Version : A little bit angry

On a mailing list that I subscribe to there has been an ongoing argument (I won't get into the details), but yesterday one person decided to make the following statement 'what about those of us with true gifts, those who don't have to use tarot or runes or some other form of divination...' Basically she said that if you use tarot or runes or anything else to help tap into your intuition and psychic ability, it's not a true gift. It made me really mad. What does everyone else think?

Heh! It must be nice to be perfect!

I believe that everyone has this "gift" or intuition in varying degree. It's like natural learning...you can enhance and strengthen your gifts with use. The runes and cards help us to focus.

I would view her statement as someone who is trying to make herself feel more important. People who indulge in these "one upmanship" usually have low self-esteem.

Don't let it bother you; some people have their heads so far up their asses they can never see daylight.

I don't believe it has anything to do with "having a gift or not", but how you work with a gift we all have. Some people work without any device, some use tarot or runes, and some don't feel a special connection to divining at all. *shrugs*

Indeed.

Well... If some of us didn't use tools to tap into that inner "psyche"....there would be a lot less "psychics" in the world. (Hey, maybe the Ms. Cleo thing wouldn't have happened. :p)

But, Aoibheann, I believe you do have a gift.. I mean, look at all the people wanting to have past life readings. :)

I have to say I *know* you have that gift, as I just read my reading which I will PM you about.

Aoibheann, people like that just enjoy making you feel angry - the only "true" gift they posssess is the ability to annoy people. And most people who use "true" in such a context in my experience rarely have much connection with anything truthful. If they did, they wouldn't need the word itself as a qualifier.

Using tools like cards or runes doesn't work if there's no ability to see. Just like hammers don't jump up and build bookshelves all by themselves. It takes a talented carpenter to make something cool using a hammer, and it takes a talented psychic to read tarot. . .

So tell this person to jump off a bridge.

Yes, like Wildchild said we all have gifts. I loved it when one of the Aunts on Practical Magic said...."There's a little witch in all of us!";)

My mama-in-law has been having readings done for most of her life so I was very flattered when she told me that I had a gift for reading.

Don't let those folks get to you. It just strengthens them by stealing energy from you. ((((Aoibheann))))

hee hee...

I think someone said something about how some people need to be in the spotlight or something. Need to feel 'important' all the time. Don't listen to them Aiobheann :: bear hugs ::
You have a gift which no one can take away from you. Everyone has a different gift. I use Tarot, runes, myself and a few other forms. Doesn't make me any better or any worse than anyone else.

We're all equal, just different. To many ppl get all high up on themselves. You know the truth... let them live in their little world where they are perfect, and all mighty.
People with attitudes like that are usually brought down a couple notches by their peers... and its a good thing. That persons time will come.

Blessings,

I was always taught that tarot, runs, etc. were just crutches to help you develop your other psychic abilities. I was also taught not to use them much because they would hinder the growth of your abilities. I dunno if I believe this or not but I really wouldn't let a comment like that bug me. To each his own, I guess.
