I was thinking of purchasing these.
Has anyone tried them. They are wooden and rectangular...smooth.
I was wondering as to the quality as they are 37.99

Nope. I bought a set made out of hematite at a local pagan store.

I'm sure they're fine, though...I'd say you should judge for yourself if the "quality" is up to your standards. The way I see it, if they're usable, then that's good quality.

Better idea - make your own runes. That way you really form a connection to them. You can make them from sculpty clay and carve or paint the runes. You can make them from wood from the craft shop and use a wood burning tool. You can make them from stones (semi precious or plain old polished rocks from the dollar store) and engrave them with a dremmel tool or paint the runes on them. There are scads of other ideas for making your own runes.

Traditionalists will tell you to cut a certain kind of tree branch, carve the runes, and then dye the runes with your own blood, all the while singing the name of the rune. That can certainly give an excellent connection with the runes, but you don't have to go that far.

I actually have made two sets of runes; one out of willow and the most recent one out of pebbles I found in the desert. I gave away my willow set. I like
the pebble set but the stones are all so different I know them by look and feel.
I have to close my eyes and pull one which is fine but I'm looking for a wood set like the one Freya Aswynn uses on her u-tube reading. They almost look like dominos and faced downward look exactly alike.

Btw, I bought the boxed set and had to return it because it had 2 kenaz runes and no eihwaz! Also the runes were stamped and unpainted in some areas. I found this set of runes of inferior quality(the wood was chipped and unsanded in some places and smooth in others) and quite expensive at 37.00.

Wow, that is really messed up! It's good to hear you got it returned.
