Hi all,

just heard about people who are practising dragon magic? Anyone here who knows what that is? All I know is that there are different types of dragons, they symbolize different things...

D.J. Conway wrote a book about dealing with dragon energies. It is not for the beginner. I believe the book was called Dancing with Dragons. From what I've heard, it is not easy to handle and should not be taken lightly.

If you feel compelled towards dragons, they may be a totem animal or need to teach you something. Analize what dragons mean to you and what qualities they have that you may need improvement on.

I am not compelled to dragons at all actually, I just got curious to what it was when I heard about it... I am not sure I'd even want to try dealing with dragon energies... but I'd love to find out what it is all about. =)

Interesting that that post got added this weekend.

I just spent part of my weekend discussing and planning a dragon protection ritual with a friend of mine who is into dragon magick. He has a few dragon familiars.

I am hectically Drawn to Dragons. in Fact they feature a lot in my life.

Ive actually got a ritual for casting a Circle using the Dragon Traditions if you are interested I will post it up.

It isnt entirely complete and leaves a lot to be meditated over.

As Far as Dancing with Dragons goes Ive read some of it and found it very interesting but havent actually used much of it as of yet.

I have heard of dragon magick before, can't remember where.
What are the dragon energies, are they similar to elemental energies?:)

Dragons are said to be beings just as humans and faeries are, yet also beyond and somewhat like deities. You can tap into their protective and strong aspects like you might a deity, or you can ask them to guide and protect you like you would a friend. There are many different kinds of dragons by region, element, colour, body type, etc. Dragon magick is not well known but can be very powerful.

We are hoping to tap into it to protect and bless a festival we will be helping open.... :)

Well you're talking about dragons...so this sort of ties in.
I went to a store that was like....witch/Pagan/occult-ish...you know? I saw this big (about 2 feet tall) beautiful dragon sculpture. He's purple with many other color about him. His wings are spread, he's sparkely all over and wear a necklace made of real crystals, and amethists...
When I first got him...he wasn't very pleasant. He's afterall, not a statue of a dragon to me...but a dragon's spirit embodied.
In the dark he would seem to grow very large, and indeed, anywhere I went around me room he would be there in the darkness, and bump me on the knee (or if I bent over, the noggin'). He had an huge and booming presence...but not a very friendly one, and it seemed to me he could be mischevious at time, almost as a faery (but worse) knocking things over, and blowing things away.
Recently, over the last few weeks...he has warmed up....When I enter my room now, I get the feeling he watches over it and guards it like a warrior. He's close to me, as if he were a brother...but he's so strong, I don't dare say it's my room anymore, it's Wharf's room now!
One thing I noticed is that they told me they thought she was a girl because she wore a necklace...and I disagreed right away, seeing a handsome and protective male dragon. But, I didn't want to disagree because I though, they own a store on witchcraft, they must know something about it...lol
When I had him for a while I refered to him as female....and I almost thought he didn't like it. I didn't realize though that buying a dragon would be the same as inviting one into my home. I've never considered it my animal...though I hadn't given it a lot of though...anyhow...
I quickly realized his male nature and changed his name, and it seems to me that after a short while of being mad at me for the gender mix up, he has forgiving the sin.
So...my question is...what is typical behavior of a dragon living in your house? lol He's purple, anything significant there?
Do you suppose he was angry about the gender thing, or is that they way dragons are? ANY input please!

The "she wears a necklace" thing is pretty weak anyway - men wear necklaces!! If he feels like a boy to you then he probably is...I would think gender is a small matter to a dragon anyway.

Think of your strongest, wisest, most protective friend. Then make them mischievious, very self-assured, and maybe a bit "macho" and you get a dragon. They can be protective to the point of not trusting anyone till they've tested or observed them. Then you add the fact that most dragons can be far bigger then dinosaurs and more intimidating... :)

People work with Unicorns and Faeries especially, with Sirens I'm not sure - but I suppose if you feel connected to them or that you should learn something from them why not?

Faerie magick is based largely on celebrating with faeries. If you're into Faerie Paganism your holidays are based on ecstasy and celebrating, not so much on the turn of the wheel. You might ask them to help protect and clean your home, and you might leave gifts of honey, bread, and milk for them. You might even visit them on the astral realm to learn information, etc.

Do a websearch on Yahoo!, Ask Jeeves, or any of the Pagan search engines (Ariadnespider, AvatarSearch, etc.)
