What type of music do you listen to? I myself listen to a lot of metal, ie: Metallica, megadeth, iron maiden, bullet for my valentine, slayer, apocalyptica, and evanescence. How about you? Honestly curious.

I listen to anything that isn't country. It just gets on my nerves. I listen to: Lacuna Coil, Marilyn Manson, old Linkin Park, AFI, Mindless Self Indulgence, I Am Ghost, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, and a bunch of others. Rock and other offshoots are my main genre, but I love techno and electronica music.:bigredgri

Nice... I like all of those bands as well.

I'm really curious as to everyone's views, because I want to know who made it where every satanist must listen to Slayer and death metal XD. Obviously, I know that isn't true...

Of course it's not true lol....most of them listen to black metal! :p Nah...that's not true either. A lot of pretender Satanists listen to black metal, and some bands like Deathspell Omega really are Satanists - theistic ones, no less :D...but it's not all metal. Michael Ford (yeah, I know...not a real hardcore Satanist) was in an industrial band and a dark ambient band...Boyd Rice (Church of Satan at one time), has had a huge career in industrial music of the old-school, awesome variety - but like any religion, there are all kinds following it. I bet you could find a Satanist who digs N'Sync :) Kinda like the Christians who believe their religion to the core, but like extreme metal, not hymns :p

So there is no rule - the Slayer thing is a stereotype, and an uneducated one, because Slayer are a) not the most Satanic band out there, and b) thrash metal, not death metal...not that death metal is a really Satanism-oriented genre anyway :boing:

Oh and I kinda had to rib you a bit here lol...BFMV and Evanescence are not metal (BFMV kinda is - metalcore :)), and nowhere near Satanic :p All the bands you named are amazing, though...ask me if you want some recommendations

I generally prefer film scores and musical theatre tracks to 'bands' and modern music. However, when I do listen to modern music, I like Rammstein, Korn, NIN, Rasputina, Smashing Pumpkins, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Christian Death, etc. which isn't really unsual. I also enjoy Cher, Madonna, Bon Jovi and Celine Dion :P

Film scores sound pretty good - but a Satanist who digs Celine Dion...yes...the Black Metal Gods will slay you :P But I admire you for not going with the herd ;)

I'm not sure if I belong in this thread or not, but in terms of music with lyrics, I listen to Al Jolson, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Black Widow, Alice Cooper, Gary Numan, and the Residents. All of whom I would consider to be pretty "demonic" in their own little ways, though none of whom are "heavy metal" in the conventional sense. (But I would argue that Screamin' Jay is heavier than anything Slipknot can do!)

I also dig Rick Wakeman, the Electric Light Orchestra, Pink Floyd, the Alan Parsons Project, Depeche Mode, and Elvis Presley. In terms of metal, I have soft spots for Fastway, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Venom, and Bathory.

I also enjoy listening to Modeste Mussorgsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, Igor Stravinsky, Philip Glass, and belly dancing music.

You do belong here :D I think a lot of music can be evil without metal...and agreed with Slipknot :P Never heard of Fastway, W.A.S.P. and Twisted Sister are kinda sorta metal, and all your music is very decent :) I'm listening to a really old, really obscure ritual ambient project right now - ritual ambient rawks :D
