When we got in to work today, we were told that our company has been sold..well, actually is in the process of being sold. Management claimed not to know any details except that they think the buying company plans to "retain all staff" and that we should all have jobs for the first 6 months, at least. I guess things could be much worse, but it's just so stressful...this on top of the holidays and all the other things we have going on in our lives.
Please send good luck/keep-your-job energy my way, if you think of it!!!!

*groan* know that feeling Abhainn. Even if the company does let go staff, you can use it as a fresh start. I wish you all the best, and I hope things turn out the way that is best for you...

Thanks!!! I know fresh starts usually end up being good in the end...BUT they require a change...and it's the change that we all hate! :-P~
We'll see... ;-)

That's too bad, I will send some energy your way - are you going to look for a new job? I guess it depends on how good your job really is, but good luck if you decide to look. A friend of mine had a decent job working on the flu vaccine at big pharmaceutical firm, they called them into a meeting last month and said "the FDA cancelled our funding, you can go home now and wait for more information." She was really shocked. They're paying everyone until Feb. 1st so that's good but still. Well good luck deciding what to do!

Oh I hate the way the economy is these days! Good luck to your friend! Hopefully she will find something by Feb.
I think I am just going to update my resume, get it out on the job sites I've been on for years now, and pay a bit more attention to what's available out there. The problem is, I'm currently making more than what most of the equivalent jobs I've seen in the want ads are paying, so I'm not too excited about giving this one up. I'll just hang on until the last possible minute I think, and then if I do get laid off, worry about it then. Fun fun! :-P~
