View Full Version : Poisoned Fish

This morning my partner and I woke up to a nice start (sleeping in on our day off and glad to be spending a day together doing much of nothing). To our dismay, we came downstairs to find one of our roommate's fish dying in what we use as the feeder tank usually. This beautiful 5 inch long fish was covered in a filmy substance and pointed nose down, struggling to move/breathe. Saddened, we asked our roommate what was wrong. He replied, "nothing, I didn't want it anymore so I poured half a quart of Gin in the tank last night." We were horrified. Our roommate left for work and we went into immediate action, with blessings, energy and spells of passing, knowing we couldn't save it, but wanting it to pass quickly and painlessly. It died within minutes after we began and we felt better knowing it didn't have to suffer the poisoned water anymore, but we are still distressed over the situation. Please say a blessing or prayer for this wronged fish. I'm so upset that someone could do that.

Wow that's pretty twisted! I couldn't imagine doing that to a poor fish. Watch out for your own pets around your roommate! :-\

If he didn't want the fish he could have given it away at least! That's sick! I wonder if he just wanted to see it die?

What a waste of oxygen that guy is!
I just lost my Koi to an injury from another fish. I loved her, she was like a puppy. I miss her very much.
I agree with everyone who say's to dump this room-mate:mad:
I could not sleep in the same house with a person like that!

That's probably one of the most horrible things I've ever heard. He really is a waste of beautiful oxygen.

Poor fish. :(

Watch your other animals...and watch your back...he's obviously sadistic (and not in the fun way!)...

When I saw the topic of this thread I thought it was going to be a warning about fish that would make you sick if you ate it. Being allergic to seafood, I felt I didn't need to open this up.

But out of curiosity, I came in and found myself horrified that someone would do that to a living creature just because he didn't want it anymore!

That is just being cruel for cruel's sake. That poor thing never hurt anyone and there was no reason for it.

I'm with the others, get this individual out of your house. If he can do that to a fish, what else would he do it to?

(((hugs))) :(

Sweet Goddess, you poor kids, what a night mare to wake up to... I doubt he will hurt you guys physically at this time, but a new roommate situation is in order. Start planning it immediately! Don't delay, but don't put yourselves into a bad situation financially either. Goddess what a twisted person, please be well, get him or yourselves out of there fast as you can. Warm hugs to you both...BB

I would love to be able to get out of this house soon, but our lease is till May. My partner and I are definitely ditching the psycho though, we're having a baby in June - imagine if he didn't like the baby around! We're getting our own place so we don't have to deal with his ignorance, immaturity and lack of respect for the Earth and her children.

I am slightly concerned about other pets (we have so many) but I don't think he would worry about them because he doesn't have to care for them, and that was why he killed the fish, he didn't want to have to do anything for it anymore.

As far as calling the ASPCA, I don't know what they could do, all I know of them is that they're known for "getting rid" of animals when they don't have room for them anymore also, at least here in PA. It's done, we helped the fish go on to his next life with the blessings of the Goddess and I'm glad we could do that for it.

It was nice to come to a place where so many share my horror and concern. Thanks.

~shudders~ That is sick, just sick!!! My beloved and beautiful Ciclids (misspelled???) died by electocution, one of the wires on the lite was corroded (another misspelled??) and water was on it and it put electricity into the water and killed them before I could do anything, I cried for like two days!! I couldn't believe someone would do that!!!
