Last Wednesday my hubby brought me a Yorkie/Chiuaua mix.
They were giving them away in the parking lot at Wal-Mart!
She's so sweet, her name is Mimi and she looks like a Yorkie.
We just took her to the vet for worms. I had her tested for Parvo just to be certain. $30 for a little peace of mind is not too bad if you ask me. She starts her shots in a week. The vet wants to give her time to recover a bit from the worms and get her tummy settled.
My other dogs love to play with her, with supervision;)
They are Louie (Austrailan Blue Heeler) and Lucy Lu (Shar-Pei).
All 3 of my cats are bigger than her too. Poor girl, she don't stand
a chance against Fat Cat Binks LOL.
1 daughter
3 cats
3 dogs
1 tank of fish
6 Dominique Chickens
9 guineas
And
1 Hubby Bear!
I have a regular petting zoo

Awww, that sounds wonderful!

Can I be a part of your menagerie, too? I'll just play with the babies all day! *Grins*

Sure, the more the merrier!
We're supposed to get goats, peafowl and rabbits this Spring too, but we'll probably wait one more year for the goats (and peacocks)
I've only been getting about 4 hours sleep a night!
:ahhhh:
I'll be glad when Mimi's bladder is stronger:D

Remember Rotties and Dobbies have a higher death rate from Parvo than most breeds! I'd ask the breeder if he/she test for Parvo in all puppies prior to your purchase. I would even agree to have the testing cost added onto the purchase price if it is a negative test result. Make sure you get it in writing! A reputable breeder would have no problems with your request. THEN make sure your puppy has at least started puppy shots and wormed before you buy it too.
These few tips will ensure you will get the healthyist puppy possible to start your family with.
I did not do all those things ONLY because she was a freebie!
Moose is a great name:cool:

Moose, is from an un-planned litter, one papaered Rottie (dad) and one not (mom), so he is a freebie, and all the medical will be one me. I still cant wait for him to get here. He's in Nevada right now and will be brought to me right after the first of the year.

That's my nickname for Dax!!! Above all else you want your Rott bonded to you.......when Dax came home with me ( I just realized it was 8 years ago today, now I'm crying ) let him sleep with you. He won't soil his bed, and will wake you up when he gets restless and needs to go out. Dax slept with Ken and me until he got tired of being woke up because the three of us didn't fit in the bed anymore...and we made it plain WE weren't going to leave the bed.....course he was 9 months old then and really big... Most of you know what a sweetheart Dax is, and I believe it's because he was raised as a child, not as a dog. BTW, he is the best Christmas present I ever recieved............:D

I had actually thought about miniature sheep. BUT they need to be shorn about twice a year so they don't get maggots in their wool. Sheep are also more supseptibe (sp?) to bloat than goats.
I REALLY want ALPACAS!
But $2,000 per animal is a little steep for me. The prices are coming down. When I origanally priced them a few years ago, they were going for $10,000 per animal :ack:

Awww, congrats on the new family member! She sounds like a sweetie already.

My baby-girl, Harley (who looks a bit like Dax :D) was my birthday present 7 1/2 years ago. Which was great when she started acting out and ate my sofa and hubby threatened to give her away (not that he would really). I told he he couldn't since she was all mine. :D:D

When you get some pictures, please post them.

Oh yeah....VB.......Rotties have this thing for wood........not like branches or any thing.....Dax used to bring small trees in the house to chew on!!!.....And the digging thing.......if you got anyone to bury............:D And what I meant to write in the first place.......We got a new sofa, loveseat and chair about 2 months before we got Dax (not the antiques you see in my pics)......In Daxs adolescence, he ate the arm off the sofa............ and the legs off the chair.......and a cushion off the loveseat.....Which explains why we don't have that furniture any more.....But at about 2 1/2 years he finally grew up and became the hambone he is today. Rotts are smart and they will try you.............:D

Congrats Willow..... I love puppies, (trying to talk my mom into letting me get a puppy, but since I work all the time it doesn't look like that will happen anytime in near future, maybe when I have enough money to move out......)

I found my darling puppy at the local pound where he was about the be euthanized.I couldn't imagine such a sweet puppy gone so I adopted him. Named him Hero because he helped me get through my Father's death. :( But he is cutest thing, part chawowo (know I didn't spell right) and part weiner dog. He's so happy to see me in the afternoon, it makes me feel so wonderful even after a bad day!:T I just love my Hero!!! :D

Blessed Be:sunny:
