View Full Version : Beliefs conflict ?

Hello again. I didn’t post anything for a while, I spend my time reading materials on paganism. I am eons away for reading all, but I have already a big problem: my concepts about deity are different from the God/Goddess concept, common in paganism. What I believe (and you are the first I dare to speak so freely about!) is that there is an original/unique God (the Christian God is only a name of Him) and I don’t understand exactly the necessity to divide Him in a pair God/Goddess. I don’t think that it’s necessary to give Him attributes specific to the human race like the sex (male/female duality). I see the Universe like a pair wave/body (like the light pair photon/light wave). We are the bodies and each of us has it’s own wave length by that meaning that starting from the macro cosmos stars, planets and ending to the most basic parts of the matter where this duality is already proved. God is the origin and the end (sounds familiar?) of all, He generates the Pluriverse and all finally returns to Him (the principle of conserving the matter and energy). I am licensed in physics and chemistry so I use sometimes specific language that in these problems is totally inadequate. I see this waves in the same manner that the Force is presented in Star Wars movies. Each thing (person, plant, animal, rock, planet etc.) has it’s specific “sound” and with adequate training everybody can use this energy (the wave is characterized be it’s energy). This is how I explain Magick. If a person can focus this energy (like a lens focusing the solar light) he can use it for different purposes. There is no good or bad in here, the person who channels it can use it for good or bad. Everybody, with specific training can understand, feel and use this fundamental energy. Usually we forget to feel it (maybe children are more sensitive) and we act like flat windows, the light pass without changes thru us. We can’t exist without this energy, he is associate with our physical bodies.
It sounds maybe strange or even silly but I really believe that and from my point of view, the Universe is more understandable in all it’s forms thinking like I do. Hope you will not laugh too much of it. :)
There are similarities with Pagan beliefs, and I hope the differences will not make me undesirable on the Pagan community. I feel like I belong here even if my mystic is different. For the first time I felt comfortable in a group, and I will regret if I shall be banished :)
And another very important thing: I don' want to offend somebody with this thread, I respect all beliefs and maybe that's another common point that keep me here, between the pagans.

 Merry Meet and Welcome! Stay around for a while, and you'll find that there are a wide variety of beliefs and practices among the members. I'm quite the rule breaker myself;) Your belief system sounds interesting and makes sense to me!

Thank you Freya for beeing so kind. As I wrote (and believe): the permissivity of the pagan comunity is an important reason to keep me here. Not the only one :) So I intend to stay and learn from everyone. Hope only that you will accept me and my mystic system.

Actually, that's only necessarily Wiccan deity concept - a lot of Pagan paths have different views of deity, and the one you describe can fit in.

I really find your theory interesting. I think more in terms of energy, rather then light waves and photons. I have some interest in physics as well, though purely in an amateur sort of way (the last time I took physics was in highschool, so I still read up on theories etc. but no formal education obviously).

Don't worry about offending people here or anything - you pretty much can do anything short of telling people their beliefs are stupid.

Cosminv my Deity closely represents yours. I see mine as a multi-facted crystal in that there are many sides to it, which is why there are so many belief systems out there and that God/Goddess can answer to anyones need. I see you that refer to you Deity as a male but you said you believe that there is really no sexual being in your Deity and that is fine. (Fine that you refer to one sex when relating to your Deity but not really believing there is a certain sex to it. Sounds better than referring to It.;) )
As Freyja said there are many paths here. I myself follow the path of the Christian Witch. That is what I'm comfortable with and I've grown so much since I embraced it as my spiritual path. And that is ultimately what is important. We're glad your here and we look forward to your sharing with us, just as we look forward to sharing with you.:D
