This probably belongs in Philosophy, but it'll get more audience here, so deal with it :p
Another night of unbearable insomnia, so I'm stuck lying in bed, thinking. This, of course, sparked a revelation that'll probably stick with me for my whole life. Think I'll share it with the kind patrons of MW. Now, I'm a strong believer in rewards for hard work, and anyone else who believes this may get a kick outta this.
There are two things we know: Life is a journey, and it's full of crossroads. If life is really a journey, then what's waiting for us at the end? Most people on this site will say reincarination or some sort of Heaven (Sumnerlands, for instance). I, on the other hand, don't really believe anything. I'm just waiting to see what's at the end of the journey, and when I get there, it'll just be another discovery in this crazy life of mine.
Here's the part that gets me. Crossroads are the decisions in life we have to make. We can't have everything, so we must choose one road and go with it. But, what do we do if we don't make these decisions? Stand still. If all we do is stand staring at the road signs, we'll never complete our journey. We'll just be statues, frozen in some dead-end existance that we can't get out of because we're too afraid or blind to make decisions.
My current crossroad is a difficult one. If I take the path on the left, I live life by my rules, on the edge, and never a dull moment. If I take the path on the right, I study religion and myself, and become a better person.
Of course, like all crossroads, I can only take one path. Who else is stuck at the fork in the road of life? Maybe we could give each other directions :D
