When I found myself falling asleep every time I sat down, I was preggers.

Not ever a good idea to leave candles burning if you feel sleepy. Be careful.

Exactly. Big time fire hazard.

Not all 7-day candles come in jars so I didn't know yours do.

You still need to be careful with them. I practice Hoodoo and work with 7-day candles a LOT. And I've had some crack, and even had one explode, splashing wax across my living room.

Keep them away from any fabric, and place them on a fireproof surface, as in not wood. I had my ex build a special altar for me. The base of it is wood, but we covered it with brick so that I could put all my 7-day candles on it without risk of the wood overheating and catching fire.

You're sleepiness could have several causes, most of which are probably not at all related to lighting the candles. You may be getting sick, or may not be getting enough sleep at night. The only two things I can think of related to the candles that might cause sleepiness are that watching the flames may put you into a heightened state of relaxation, and you're falling asleep because of that. Or, and this is more troublesome, there may be some sort of toxic ingredients in the candles which are making you sleepy. In which case, buy a different brand.

This, this, and this.
