I totally agree with both of those.. but now I have to think of something for myself...

If I could change one thing about the world.. it would be an acceptance of who we are. not necessarily just religion. But colour of skin and ethnic background-type.

hmmmm, this is a tough one, cuz I would definatly like world peace but I can't say that, so..... people who work their butts off for what they get and still can't make ends meet get money from the governmetn and those people who live off the government and have nice homes and cars get less so they have to get a job.

Better schools, more teachers, and teachers paid a decent wage for what they do. As long as teachers are paid next to nothing, the majority of the best potential teachers will chose other professions.

Also, effective environmental cleanup and maintenance, and people willing to be honest and responsible about the environment, rather than lie to make a fast buck. We've vastly expanded the number of one-time use disposeable products in this country in the past couple of years - pity it wasn't well constructed, reuseable items made to last instead.

Safe guarding and responsible preservation of historical sites is also high on my list. Tearing up a Civil War battlefield to build a Dominos pizza and a parking lot (as is happening where I live) is sort of sick. Most historic sites, ironically enough, have great profit potential themselves through tourism and educational usage, if people would only value them. Part of the problem of a "throw away" culture, on a larger scale, I guess.

I think i would make people a bit more honest with each other. sometimes people don't say what they want to out of fear of being thought bad of.:o

I wish people would stop tearing up the Earth and showing complete disrespect for all the beautiful living creatures they live side-by-side with.

I wish people would respect everyone else's path, race, creed, sexual orientation, hopes, dreams, lifestyle, opinions, strengths, weaknesses, gender and sex, ethnic background, and socioeconomic status. None of these things really matter in the long run. I believe whole-heartedly that people are people, no matter what they look like. I believe what you do and what you say matters far more than what brand of khakis you're wearing. You are not your f-ing khakis. (god, I love "Fight Club")

How different would things be if everyone just thought a bit more clearly?

Our remaining forests and open spaces be preserved and protected from greedy developers.

Decent programs for the eldery, so that they can live the remainder of their lives with the dignity that they deserve and so these hard working folks, don't have to choose between medicine and food.

AZURE--I completely agree with you on this! I'm very big on historic preservation. Whenever I watch the History Channel's "Save our History" I end up in tears thinking of how we are destroying our heritage.

I've signed many a petition and (when I was able to) have donated money to the organizations that try to save these places from utter destruction.

I've been known to go on many a tirade about this exact subject with people because I get so angry and passionate about this topic and sometimes just get carried away with myself.

Soooo, before I do that here, ( ;) ) I will just say that this is the one thing that I would change.

I would like to see true equality between genders & races. It disgusts me that a company has to advertize the fact that they hire women, or have mulitple ethnicity...
same with homelife, I would like to rid the typical woman at home, doing all the thankless crap while guy works, and woman might even work as well...

don't forget teachers! just because its traditionally a woman's job and women used to get paid horribly, they've stuck to really really bad pay. i don't think this makes an ounce of sense.

While world peace, equality, and saving trees are great ideas, if I had to personally choose only one thing to change it would be a little different.

I would put an end to the daily pain that affects people with chronic and/or terminal illness.Sure pain medication can work quite well, but living in a drug induced haze is over-rated. I know we all have to die, but wouldn't it be easier if the physical pain was less then the emotional pain?

That way when we hear an amazing story of how a man lived ten years after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer that was supposed to kill him in 6 months, we wont have to wonder about the quality of those ten years. And all of the many, many friends I have with chronic and eventually terminal illness can spend more time enjoying life and love and less time dealing with pain.

Money neither needed nor required for anything we would all have access to what we needed. Barter and trade would be the norm rather than the exception.

An end to physical, mental, sexual abuse of women, children, and animals, (and yes, those men who also endure such atrocities)

Everyone's said a lot of good stuff, but I think I would want humanity to be granted wisdom. If we were wise, most of the problems that plague this world would be solved. Prejudice, pollution, war, greed, etc. would all disappear, because they are all caused by ignorance and actually bring about more harm than good.

bankers don't make that much... at least not this one.. its the traders that make tons of dough... if anything, banks are pretty average to low in the pay scale...

Eeluna, hmankind DOES have the wisdom, just not the... I guess you could call it wisom, or you could also call it willingness to listen to it.

If I could change one thibng in this world, would be people ability to listen. If people would just listen, not "ok, I hear what your saying, but I don't care,m i'm still gonna do what ever, or think whatever, blah, blah, blah,..."

But to really listen, to everything and anything, to each other, to the animals(if they choose to talk to us), and so on. To hear what some one is saying and to understand it, or, at least, accept it.

Think of how much the world would change then.....

If I got a second wish to change the world... ;)... I would change all the ground being turned into concrete for buildings, cities, and sidewalks for us to walk on. As a friend of mine said, "you can't eat concrete, and nothing grows in it."

If I could change one thing, besides world hunger and war, it would be for everyone to see through appearance. How great would our world be if everyone looked for inner beauty?

To end Greed. This is the base cause of so many things. War. Low Pay.
Poverty. Oppression. The I haves versus the have nots.

Let's see. I think I would change the idea that we have freedom of religion in this country. It may look good that it says we do, but in reality we do not. Just ask the Pres. about the Pagan religion and see what he says. I also agree that we should do no more harm to our Earth Mother. It's rediculous seeing what is going on around us. I live right next to a major highway and every spring I have to pick up 2 to 3 bags of garbage off my property due to lazy people throwing their trash out the window or stuff blowing out the back of peoples trucks or off semi's.

Everyone should just use their COMMON SENSE. It isn't that hard.

Sorry I went on a little tangent there. Small temper tantrum. Very sorry to all.

Has anyone seen Miss Congeniality. World Peace!!!!(haha)
