Ok. As I am starting to write a book on the subject I would say to start reading books on the history of the druids. Because you need to know the past and basis of what (or where) you want to be.

More later.

I also reccomend (spelling be cursed!) looking into what histories can be found on the whole thing. It's often romanticized, but that's not always a bad thing. If you're going to look for a teacher, do be careful.

Also, if you're feeling a calling, maybe you could ask that calling to help guide you in the meantime. If it's the path for you, there's sometimes a chance that it will make itself clearer, the more attention you pay to it. I almost with my parents had been as supportive as yours. *smiles* I'm 16, by the way. Good luck!

As a mere 15 year old, I'm definately jelous that your parents support you so much!

There are hundreds of Druid organizations out there, most with vastly differing philosophies. You COULD just pick one at random and become extremely devoted to it, but thats not really the way. Try to read all you can on Druidry (look at the book list at the top of this forum) then make your own mind up about what you believe, incorporating different bits and pieces of all that you discovered.

If you're trying to relive your grandparents' religion, find out what they believed (memberships to Druid Orders? books they read?)

well i wouldnt say pick one at random becuz of the fact that. yes they may be druid but also not really fallow the druid beleif structer making them false druids. there are 100's of false druids here in alaska. the way i found that out is i went to the groups and had meets. and they are actually very disrespectful to the pagan/druid path.

so what Bombur_Green said might sound like a good idea. i think u should go to the meetings and watch and listen to wat they say and do before u choose the group u wish to join RavinAlex.

trust me there are lots out there that think their druid or wicca but are more satanic than they think.

Now the "druid structure" as you called it is up to interpretation as I see it. I follow a path tha has been come to be called "The Fourth Age of Druidry".

Crap! Time to get back to work. More when I get back tonight!

Why not ask your parents?
they grew up with "druid" parents..
wouldn't they know better than anyone here?

FIrst question to ask YOURSELF( before asking for teaching) is WHY-why Druidry? Because it is a family tradition is not enough. Why do YOU want this path?

Next question is WHAT- what about Druidry appeals to me. Don't know on this one, READ-STUDY-RESEARCH. FInd out of the history of Druids. THere are hundreds of groups and hundreds of books.
I personally recommend "Thorson's Principals of Druidry" written by "Emma Restall-Orr" co-founder of the British Druids Order>She's a wonderfu writer and quite knowedgable on Druidry.

Then, when you KNOW it FEELS right for you, study more. get more books, glean out the parts that don't feel right for you, browse the websites, from the OBOD, OBDO, BDO, Rowanhold, Glastonbury's websites, the webrings they belong to, and so on.

You have just taken your first tiny step onto a path that will lead you on a multi-branched singular path to dominate the rest of your life on a quest for knowledge, based solely on faith.

A Druid has faith the knowledge is there and knowledge that the faith is there.

The ONLY stupid question is the one that is NEVER asked, sooo,
ASK QUESTIONS!
