Greetings! I just read the entry for this week in the Llewellyn's 2002 datebook about Mars and Venus united in Scorpio: can anyone out there give me some idea what kind of energy that manifests? A friend commented that he felt there is a lot of mojo-type energy out and about now....anyone care to comment? Thanks!

*A close reunion: Venus almost conjuncts Mars
Mars and Venus continue traveling so close together they can still be seen hanging out together in the pre-dawn skies. With Venus and Mars so visibly close, what will they do? And will there be war or peace? the influence of Venus is peaceful and diplomatic, but warrior Mars in Scorpio is in his element. Mars and Venus are not only conjunct, they are parallel by declination (latitude), making them conjoined, which is a super-conjunction. BUT-- they never actually touch, although they do travel in the same degree for ONE DAY, December 12.
Venus in Scorpio is recently Direct, which is why she's still moving so slowly, and in the sign of Mars (Scorpio is ruled by Mars). The recent Direct movement gives Venus momentum, and Venus Direct is the time the Mayans sent their armies marching. But Venus in Scorpio is not in a good position, and conjunct a very strong Mars, her power is further intimidated. Mars in Scorpio is a natural strategist and a warrior. The current military build up is obvious, but while Mars and Venus travel together, it will probably not break out into all-out war. The armies are marching, they're not engaging.
In relationships, this can soften Mars while encouraging Venus to share the love. Relationships can be give and take, but Mars being stronger can take more than give. Be aware than your actions may hurt someone's feelings, which you may not even realize.

Dear Litha, Thank you for the information! It is always amazing to see the re-affirmation of the adage, 'as above, so below.' The Venus-Mars direct configuration makes more sense in light of your eloquent explanation. Thanks also to L. Edmond.
