Sooooooo, you still have some last minute shopping to do....
Your cookies came out a little burnt....
The kids are driving you a bit crazy...
TOO BAD!!! It's now time to sit back and get in the holiday spirit!
I have a Christmas site for you: Eggboy's Christmas Celebration (http://merryho-ho.8m.com)
It's my site and it is guaranteed to get you in the mood for holiday fun! We've even got a message board Christmas movie trivia thing going on right now that's pretty cool. :p
Also, you can have your kids write to Santa there too! (It's NEVER too late to write the big guy!!!)
NOW, whilst you check out the site, may I also suggest that you tune into: 97.5 Walk Radio (http://walkradio.com)
It's a Long Island, NY station that is also broadcasting online holiday music 24/7 from now until Christmas!!! (I admit it, I've become addicted to it.)
So come on people! Have fun, relax a little and get in the spirit!!! There's less than a week to go now and for a Chrismtas junkie like myself, that's just too little time.
Thanks all and Happy Happy Holidays!!!!!! :D

Bah humbug!!!
J/K...i love this time of year, although this year it kind of snuck up on me. We have a local station doing the Christmas music 24/7 too. I have been listening to it a lot. The other day in the car Trey asked, "Is that a tape or a CD?"
I am on my way to check out your site!

This year, it is harder than ever. John and I have decided to "Forgo" our celebrations until two weeks from now. When everyone else will be celebrating solstice, I'll probably be marking it with a quiet meditation, as i've found myself ill with Bronchitis, bordering on pnemonia, an ear infection, and a sinus infection all at once. I'm on medication, which is keeping me out of the hospital, but I'm still too ill to do much of anything in the way of celebrating. The cost of the visit to the Dr. The prescriptions, only adds to our financial strain right now. John lost his job the week before thanksgiving, and has been having to find contract work in the meantime, which is JUST barely keeping our head above water. His family arbitrarily decided to exclude him from their celebrations this year, without calling him to let him know, or even to tell him why. He is not speaking to them. I am too ill, and we are too broke to travel to my parents house for the holidays, or to buy them gifts. The Radiator in his new car, blew just the other day. He needs to replace that. So..while I have a tree decorated in the living room, we have little in the way of other decorations. And nothing in the way of presents. And the stress keeps mounting, we are arguing, I am ill.....
I know i shouldn't "buy into" all of the commercialism of this time of year, but Christmas, New Years, and since becoming Pagan, Solstice is SUCH an important tradition to me. I love celebrating. I love decorating, I love giving gifts, and spending time with loved ones. Cuddling in front of the tree, with candles lit in every window. This year, just doesn't feel like Christmas/Solstice at all.
As I said, we will be celebrating it two weeks after the actual holiday. When all the decorations in the stores, and everywhere else are down, and all of the Sales are done...
I'm sorry..I just really needed to rant. I'm so depressed about this.

Danustouch,
I am sorry things are so tough right now for you both. I am lighting a candle for your health. As hard as it is, you have to try to keep your spirits up because it affects our health so much. Stay strong and help your body fight off the infection.

Danu, I know how ya' feel. I've been sick for almost 3 months now and my mother just came down with bronchitis herself. the only thing that has been keeping me going right now is the season. I hope you feel better soon! :)
Wild, thanks! The Santa on the calendar is our local Santa. (Personally, I think he's the real thing.) I saw him again yesterday and he just amazes me.
Semele, I bet Trey would get a kick out of the site too! :D
I hope you guys have a good time there!!! :boing:

Not sure how I'll manage to drag myself through this year. BUT! We did get the tree set up today. *does happy dance* Even though it shed all over the carpet, the cat was chewing on the branches, it scratched my hands, and the lights don't connect right (the bottom one does't work right). None the less, I'm trying my damndest to smile.. :eyebrow: :) There's gotta be something good out there, right?
And oooooooooh! Wtchy! I love the advent calendar! :bigredgri

Thanks Flaire!!!
Now I don't know if you guys saw, but I actually have two up there. They both lead to the same places, but I got so into doing them.
One, I made all of the graphics and the other was made from a Christmas card a friend of mine sent me a few years back. The funny thing is, when I got it in the mail, my first reaction was...."Boy! This will make a really cool calendar!" (I'm so sick.) :rotfl:
