Well, I tried this thread in the "critter chat" area because it relates to critters but obviously the right folks didn't read it. So, I'm gonna try it again here as this would seem to be the next best place. Here's the original post.
Title: Anyone here a horse whisperer?
As the title says, does anyone here have the ability to communicate with horses on some level?
I can sense their emotions to some degree but not a lot...still working on it. However, I do seem to be able to let them know what I'm thinking very well. I've always been able to do this with many animals but I've found that with horses it works so much better. When one of my mares was extremely sick she wouldn't stand still for the vet, was bucking, kicking, trying to bite etc. I just took her off of the lead rope, took hold of her halter and looked her in the eye and began whispering (literally, not as in "horse whisperer") to her and when she stopped thrashing a bit I leaned in, touched my forehead to her and began talking to her in my mind, explaining what we were doing and why, explaining that it wouldn't hurt and would be done very soon. She calmed down and almost went into a sleeping state...I had to hold her head up! lol Vet went to work and when he was done I told her she had been such a good girl and gave her a handful of oats. Then off she went frolicing in the field afterward! lol
So anyone else have experiences like this?
