I am going in to get my wisdom teeth out on Friday. I am terrified.
Good vibes?

Good vibes for you.
I hope yours goes even better than mine did.
(~10 years ago) - 4 W teeth - all impacted... had to all be split for removal, woke up during procedure - but strangely enough didn't feel a damn thing - I do however remember the shocked look on the doc's face (very entertaining).
Went to recovery room had a 45 min nap, a shot of happy narcotics then spent the afternoon shopping with mom and grandma, slurpping a milkshake (ok I was dribbling it off a spoon with a numb mouth - tasted good anyways).
I felt FINE by the next day.
May your recovery be quick and the extractions straightforward.

Thanks a lot everyone. I am on the mend. Lots of swelling, but cold compresses and rest are helping.

Healing energies for you! (since I didn't see this before you went.)
Did you have laughing gas? The last time I went to the oral surgeon I thought the folks at my dentist's office had informed them that I had to have laughing gas (nitrous oxide). I have to! They didn't know and said it was too late to bring it in. :wtf: It's never too late at my regular dentist's office.
After 50 years of dental hell I finally learned that I'm allergic (or just sensitive) to novacaine. Something about the laughing gas prevents the horrible reaction to the novacaine. Sure wish I'd known that when I was just a little kid.
