View Full Version : The Person Below Me: Tarot reading

Idea taken from another forum.

The premise is simple. Draw a card and write a brief reading of that card. The next poster states whether or not (and if it does apply, how), and follows with a reading of their own.

You can use your own deck, but if you prefer, or don't have a deck handy, you can go here:

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/free-readings/

and provide a reading of the card that comes up (though if you use this, be a bit more creative than retyping the explanation given on the site, unless for whatever reason you really feel it applies. ;))

This is meant to be semi-serious, semi-silly, so have fun with it.

Next post will be my prediction for the next poster.

Using the reading generator, I get "The Star".

My one word meaning for this card tends to be the classic "inspiration" whenever it comes up in a reading.

You've been nurturing some sort of seed of an idea for some time now, but haven't felt ready to follow it yet. That's good, all seeds need to gestate, to form, to send out sprouts and tendrils of their own.

Spring is coming for your idea, and you and it receive an influx of energy and nurturing for it to grow. There's a spark of light now shining, illuminating the possible directions you can take. Look around, see which direction seems best to you, and follow. Now is the right time, and you can sense it.

D'oh!!!!

Ten of Swords!
reversed. (whew...)

Evil overthrown, Courage, Success, Recovery, turning toward higher sources.

That was with a cold deck.

Try again...
The Star
Hope and Faith. A blending of the best of the past and present. Bright Prospects. Mastering the occult arts. An awareness of two worlds.

I love the 10 of cups.
I have the Robin Wood Tarot, and they are just beautiful.

I drew the eight of pentacles.

You are making a great effort to work harder to gain knowledge of your craft. It also suggests that you may be at the beginning of learning a new skill or craft. It also may be time to increase your knowledge and that you further your education. You may learn something new, or you may decide to further develop your intelligence on a certain subject matter. The eight of pentacles also suggests that you find out the facts of your situation.

Both cards fit well for me! When I was a teen I took up the Tarot but as life went on I had to put it to the side but now I'm drawn back to it. Also, I've expanded my "spirituality" and am very much aware of two worlds and am learning how to master other skills I've let lay dormant. Hope that made sense lolol

That fits exactly for me. :D And, in this case, the craft I've been working in (or, rather, I've restarted working in earnest) is ... the Craft. XD I'm learning from various instructors and through various means about spiritual things -- all kinds of stuff. It seems like a very spiritual year for me. :)

I drew the 6 of wands...so, to whomever it is: you're experiencing some moment of triumph or accomplishment. Perhaps a project you've been working on is close to fruition, or just reached that, and it's time to start basking in the glow of having finished. But, be careful that you gloat too much and may have to eat your words (or such things) later...there may lay many other, possibly harder, tasks ahead.

I got The Hermit, reversed.

General feeling from this card; You weren't very sociable before, but people have more of an appeal to you right now. The Hermit usually describes a shining light, a beckoning of enlightenment, but being reversed this might suggest that you already found the light and are enjoying your period of darkness...mysteries, at the moment, or else that divine knowledge and learning is a bit blocked for you right now and you find yourself in a spiritual rut.

For WildThing:

I drew 6 of Wands. The general feeling I get from this card is that you have faced many challenges and obstacles in the past. Sometimes, you felt miserable and wonder if change would happen. You have lots of worries in how the future will come out, but don't worry. You're on the right track and even if you're wrong, it just a rough patch in life. There will be lots of changes and movement, but you're looking up on the brighter side of things.

For Adamantea:

You drew 7 of Cups.

You are faced with many choices, leaving you confused and uncertain. The time has come to consider and decide which is best. Follow your heart, you already know exactly what you want.

Deck Used: The Halloween Tarot

Card Pulled: The Chariot

The project you're currently embarking on deserves your focus, and as long as you keep that focus, victory is yours.

That's actually for me. ;)

In any case, it is true for me in that I haven't been focusing as much as I should be on certain spiritual ... works. I haven't been reading properly, nor have I been practicing enough. I need to hop back to it!

For the person below me: ACE OF SWORDS.

Now is the time to use your critical thinking skills, your logic, your wit, and some means of communication. You need to apply some thinking here rather than just feeling, or acting/speaking without any thought. If you behave with some Air-like qualities, you may see things start changing for you -- for the better.

Yes I KNOW...

I wasn't going to reply because I didn't WANT that one to be for me...

The Hermit

Don't be hasting in your search for the truth. Don't let others opinion influence you.

As I often say, "irony is ironic" I have been feeling both as the hermit, and as though others are trying to sway me to the "their way or the highway" way of life.

To thou who doth post beneath me:
From the Tarot of Dreams I draw the VII of Coins. You have been working hard my friend, the toils are about to bear the fruits of your labor. Now you just have to watch patiently and try not to over extend and destroy all that you have worked so hard to create. The hardest part of making a masterpiece, is right before it's finished.

I am indeed a work in progress, I have a habit of trying to ruin the masterpiece before it is finished.

To the person who posts after me.. Usie celtic dragon tarot I draw: Two of Pentacles

Prepare to juggle two life-evenets at once without losing control. You will know harmony and contenment even though there are changes going on around you. This is a time of ups and downs in your mood and energy.

I don't know yet when/if I'll juggle these things. But, it seems accurate about making a decision and juggling things and my energy going up and down.

For the person after me, using The Tarot of the Mermaids:
7 of Chalices Reversed. You are juggling a lot of things at once, and also trying to direct things. You feel people have a hard time listening to your direction and your advice. Part of this may be lack of faith/confidence in yourself and your goals and dreams, which in turn leads to a slight amount of being unprepared or seeming unprepared and seeming unsure. You feel finding your goals in life is like "finding a needle in a haystack." "Don't give up on yourself or your dreams. Things may not come quickly or easily, but good things may still come for you if you give it time and hope." The card said. "Don't loose sight of yourself."

nailed it.

For the person below me:

Robin Wood Tarot, Queen of Cups.

A nuturing figure is perhas too protective. You are kind but lacking in energy. Only willing to help if it's not too hard. A very gentle person.

LisaT4P
March 9th, 2010, 09:45 PM
True. Especially the helping if it isn't too hard part. I've got to save my energy for myself at the moment. LOL

For next person:

Wheel of Fortune - Things are about to spin for you. Things will get moving and get out of a stasis pattern. It kinda feels like it's on the waning side for this spin, to me. *shrug* But, maybe that's after a period of long activity & you'll be needing a rest. :)

Man I hope that one is true. I am in-between things now and hoping for a new start soon.

Card: Two of Wands (R) - With personal power comes responsibility. Be aware of careless or ruthless ambition in yourself or another.

LadyCelt
March 11th, 2010, 12:26 AM
This is potentially very true. Its hard to say since it seems more in the future. But, I am working on harder things with spirituality, and there is more responsibility to this knowledge and knowing I have the ability and knowledge.

Using The Victorian Romantic Tarot: The Ace of Wands Reversed.
It seems one person (or possibly idea) is "on fire" and ready for action, and feels in charge. Yet, almost at the same time, or in accordance/correlation to/with, the other person (or idea) seems to be falling apart, feels somewhat forgotten, and also is slightly suspiscious or at least skeptical of the leader/leading idea. "Watch your back for hidden trouble, danger, and ill meaning ambitions." "Watch what you say and to whom you saw it." "Be careful of someone trying to grab you at your feet and take you down, and even place that blame upon you."

The "quotes" are what the card said.

If nobody feels this relates to them, maybe someone else can try.
