Hey everyone..this is something that Sherry had said in the Staf Wanted forum. I would like to hear everyone's opinions on this one.

From Sherry:
? to be a writer ?
Im not sure if I am qualified to be a writer or not my path is just over 1 year long now. I do LOVE research and learning all that I can so if you have a subject that you want info on just call on me I will find all that I can and then we will see how I do as a writer At this time I am doing research on the protection laws of freedom of religon as a coworker stated the reason she quit was her fear of me! you see she wears a cross ring earings and necklace I had a simple celtic star on a long chain and inside my blouse, well transfering a difficult patient at work it did come out and you would have thought i shot her she quit the next day. My boss knew better than to go to religon with the subject matter and asked me not to wear it because it scared people. I now pin it inside of my uniform but I don't feel it is right Just let me know if it is interesting enough

Now.

A: I dont think your boss has any right to ask you not wear the Celtic Cross unless it is a work hazard. (For example, if you work with machines that it could get caught in.) Otherwise it would have to be an across the board ban of jewelry and this is not. It is prejudice.

B: She quit because she is not firmly rooted into her Path otherwise your CC would not have meant a thing to her. Only that you were on your own.

Sherry: I hope you dont mind me posting this in here. I know that there is a lot of feedback and support you could get from this community.

I dont mind it at all you would think that people would be done with prejudices but I guess its eternal!! I was in no way ashamed of the path I have choosen. I think sometimes its better to be silent than to have a battle of the minds with so many unarmed people!! Sherry

I totally agree with Mol on the matter of the discrimination of her choice of jewelry. As far as qualifications for writing..research is the first necessary tool, and Sherry is evidently good at that. I think that she should go for it. If she finds she doesn't like it, she could always stick with research..course she may need to brush up just a tad on puncuation. LOL.. Besides I seem to remember someone saying if you want to do something & it won't hurt anyone to go for it. Or something to that effect

Hi I'm new here but I wanted to say that one of the reasons that this country was overrun by Europeans was freedom of religion. Never should anyone be ashamed of the path that they have chosen nor should they have to hide it. I would be interested to know what your research turns up.

I say go for it girlfriend! If you have the time to do the research and post it here it would mean even more we could learn. By the way, I am an employer and wear my pentagram around my neck, in plain view most times and am proud to do so. Since I started two of my employees now wear them as well...I would have never known had I not opened the door. Pattyann..."And it harm none, do as you will"
