The rottweiler looking one (he's actually half rottie) is Max, and the other with the long ear hair (he's half pitbull half cockerspaniel) is Ozy. The pekenese (sp?) you see in one picture is my mom's dog, Buddy.

Old Witch.... Dax could be an older Max, for certain!! What type of dog is he? How old is he? I think that's so neat :).

Dax is a Rottweiler-Walker hound cross.......and he's 8 years old......I've had him since he was 6 weeks old...........

Hehe....well, at least you know what Dax's other half is. All we know about Max is that he's half Rottweiler. His mom ran away one day and came back "in a family way". His brother and sister were both completely brown and a lot more stocky than he is (at least the last time I saw them).
Max is also a lot more thin than he would otherwise be (at least according to a book I read), because he was neutered at 6 months and didn't have to hormones to make him stocky like Rottweilers usually are....I didn't know this until a week ago. ;)
Max is now 1 1/2 years old, and I've had him since he was 7 weeks, but I first saw him when he was 2 days old. :)

Thanks, Flaire :) They're my babies. :) Unfortunately, Ozy is still in Canada with my parents. We left him there because we didn't think he'd handle the hot that well because he has so much hair. As it is, my parents shaved him because he shed too much for them :). We also thought that Max would handle swimming in the ocean better, and as it turns out he's terrified of water...won't even step in puddles....weird, huh? Oh well.

I can understand about Ozy and the hair... *whistles* And he'd probably not appriciate being shaved so much either. :p


I've seen quite a few dogs that are afraid of water....It's sorta funny when you think about why they'd be afraid of it. Kinda like when some cats like the water. :T

She is a Keeshonden.. she is a purebread Canadian Champion... and I really miss her..
We got her from my ex's aunt who riases, breeds and shows them. Nikkis was getting too old to show, so she let us have her.
I highly doubt she is alive anymore, but I definately want another one, not an evil bone in their bodies.

I used to have a Keeshond, named Kricket, not her registered name(Silver Shadow) She lived to be about 12 years old (cancer took her away) I miss her. They are such a special kind of dog, she always used to smile!:p

I had a Keeshond named Cayuga, no papers. My X used to call him a "Husky with Manners". He was a super dog. Always had a smile. And very beautiful. The X took him, but I think he (the X) would have gotten sick with lonliness without him, so I was okay with it. I still miss him though (the dog, not the X)

My sister and I bred showed dogs for 9 years....
I've always liked Kees; such sweet-tempered dogs. They make wonderful companions. I hope you find another, shnen...
And that's a good tip... If anyone wants a purebred dog, (not a puppy), a lot of breeders will sell (or sometimes give) retired champions fairly cheaply to good homes.

yes, and they are already trained, and easily trainable for things such as Sit which they do not train show dogs for :)

the good thing about where we bought nikki from was she made us sign sometrhing saying if we didn't want her we would return her, because she would die if she found out of of her dogs had made way into a puppymill!

That's usually a standard thing; and a lot of times you have to sign a contract that you will have the dog spade/nuetered. But sometimes the breeder keeps ownership of the dog for breeding purposes. And if you're real lucky, they let you keep the dog at your home and raise the puppies!

While we're talking about this.............Retired Racing Greyhounds are the best dogs.......With the stuff Dax and I do around here I've met some wonderful Greyhounds.........my dear Friend who passed away a year ago rescued 2 of them........If anyone wants a grown dog who will be the biggest couch potato you've ever seen and gentle to boot......look into adopting a retired racing Greyhound..........:D It's a good thing!!

(ok I know I think all animals are beautiful) but any that come in a my job are the most pleasent to be around and let you do anything to them without being nasty. Second, the cats are gorgeous!!! All of them. I miss my cats. I used to be so allergic, but I guess I outgrew it. I had three of them once but had to give them up. Plus, the birdie wouldn't exactly be too happy if I got one! :p

And finally, this is her "lookin' at her belly" which she has to do every few seconds! LOL When she's walkin' she will take a few steps...stop...look at her belly...take a few steps...look at her belly... We don't know WHY she does this.

But every time she does, I have to yell out, "LOOKIN' AT YOUR BELLY!" And she stops to give me a nasty look. :T

We figured she's looking to see if it's still there-but the way she eats--it's DEFINATELY still there! :T



We called her "Egg-boy" in the beginning. I even named 2 of my websites after "him."

Then 2 years after having "him," 'he' started laying eggs! :lol:


So we kinda figured it was time to start calling her "Egg-Girl." :p

OMG! The first time she layed eggs she scared the hell out of us!

I was watching West Wing and she was all covered up for sleepin'. Suddenly there was this SSCCRrreeeeeeeeeccchhhhhh sound.

I yelled out to my mother to see if she heard it and we just thought it was the tv.

Then it happened again and I realized that it was coming from the cage!

I ran over and pulled the covers up and she looked so helpless. Looking at me like "please tell me what's going on."

I called for my mother to come in and I swear this is true...we both sat right next to the cage talking calmly to her and practically telling her to push! It was like a birdie lammas class going on!!!

Actually at first, we still didn't know what was going on. And then one of the times she squealed, I happened to notice a white orb thingy in a, um, very uncomfortable spot.

Mom and I looked at each other and both of us rolled our eyes like, "duh!" :rolleyes:

Let's face it, for two years we thought he was a she! This kind of took us ALL by surprise!!!

She's since layed quite a few eggs--the most at one shot, (meaning egg cycle not at one time) has been 9 I believe.

As long as she lays them we're fine. If she "binds" them, meaning, she's creating them but not laying them, it can kill her. That's what killed my dad's bird. But at the same time, if she lays too many, that can kill her too. :(

So we have to be real careful when she starts to show signs that the eggs are comin'! (The first sign is that she bites the hell out of us!) :D

But she's my baby and for right now, sound asleep. :)

We just wait until she gives up on them and then sneak in and take them out.

They are so tiny! They looki like Cadbury Mini-Eggs!!! (Insert awwwwww, here.) :T


One funny thing. One time the baby flew up to give my mom a kiss and she ended up surprising all of us by laying an egg in my mother's hand! :eek:

The look on my mother's face was freaking priceless!!! :rotfl:

What made it worse was, she layed the egg...flew away...flew back and broke it with her beak...then flew back to the cage. My mother was now standing there with a broken egg in her hands!!!

I'm laughing now just thinking about my mother's face! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Egg update: She is into corn right now. I have to make her a bowl of corn to eat while we eat our dinner. Tonite, I foolishly forgot to fix her some corn and I got the evil eye. :eyebrow: Then she proceeded to eat the bottom piece of my roll that I had on my sandwich. I made her some corn and she forgot that Mom and I were even in the room!

I even moved her, on the bowl and everything, from my lap to the table and she never even picked her head up!!! :lol:

Even our pets are extrordinary!! My cat Rinky Dink ( rest her soul) used to love raw green beans.......... But a melon?? Witchy, I thought Twinkie was spoiled, but your birdie has her beat by leaps and bounds, and I love the guinea pig.........:D

And VB, that's too cute! I had a chow chow that loved cantalope. I'd give her a piece and she'd eat the melon, then scrape her bottom teeth along the rind to get every bit. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen a dog do...

Okay, dogs like cooked liver right? Well, my oldest CB, will eat it cooked, but we gave her a piece raw one time, and she spit it across the room.... I mean, actually spit it, it flew across the kitchen and landed on the other side.

Dax will actually act like I'm gonna poison him. Takes a treat with his lips mind you, puts it on the floor, sniffs it, picks it up, puts it back on the floor, and then, and only then, if it meets his approval, will eat it!!:huh:

And this one of my two silly dogs.

Tamara is at the top of the photo, she's the mum and a lovely old lady she is too, she 8 this year.

Branwen is at the bottom of the photo, she's Tamara's daughter she's going to be a whole 2 yrs old this year.

A sad irony was that Branwen and her brother were born on September the 11th the day the world went cold :(. But she has brought much joy into our hearts and lifted the hearts of others since her arival. She really is a wonderful girl, but incredably silly.
