... not that we get much ice down here in Australia. :hahugh:

I'll start off by saying I have predominantly been a lurker in the online Pagan community for the last 13 years. I poke my head in occasionally to ask a question or give an opinion, but by large I've just sat here lurking behind my laptop screen reading the plethora of information available out there. Here's step one to becoming more involved!

1) Is there a story behind your user I.D./screen name?

Hi, I'm Lis. I go by Lis Hearthcrafter here in the online Pagan community. Is there a story behind my name? Well, Lis is a Scandinavian name meaning "God is my Oath" or "Oath to God" and considering I identify as a Hearthwitch, the "Hearthcrafter" came fairly easily. It a alias used, not a craft name.

2) How'd you find us here at Mystic Wicks?

I've been here in the past, though not very active. I think I originally found the site through Google many years ago.

3) Do you follow any certain path (spiritually)?

I consider my religion to be Heathenry and my practice to me Traditional Witchcraft focusing on my Hearth, family and yard. I have a keen interest in Hedgewitchery, but would not consider myself one at the point. I term myself a Heathen Poly-animist Hearthwitch.

For the record, I do not consider myself Asatru nor a hardcore recon simply out of consideration to people it's upset in the past when I have. I take the History of my Gods as very important to my worship, but I do leave room to wiggle and believe UPG to be important to the individual.

Right now my main focuses are the ancestors (especially Disir) and landvaettir. I have had Odin making a persistent effort to get my attention, however I'm not sure if he's just pushing my back into studying after a long break or if he's actually interested in some kind of relationship. I'm not yet oathed or a follower of any God and honor the Aseir and Vanir equally.

4) Would you give me a kidney if I needed it? JUST KIDDING! Only checking to see who's paying attention... lol

I'm an organ donor, so sure - as long as I'm dead and I don't need it! :hyper:

the real #4) Would you like people to send you a private message saying "hi" if they see your profile and want to get to know you better?

I would LOVE to hear from other Pagans! Especially other Australians, Traditional Witches, Heathens... whoever has something in common to talk about :)

5) Do you use incense, and if you do, do you have a favorite scent?

I'm an incense junkie! I have an Indian blend burning right now that I bought from the Indian Grocer.

I don't really have a favorite scent, because it changed with my mood... but I do grab white sage a lot... I also really love lavender. Loose is my preference, but I have some cone and stick incense around that I use more for scenting the air than in my workings.

6) How about "totem animals"; is there any certain animal with which you most identify?

I identify a lot with the Bear, especially Grizzlies. But I haven't done any work with "totem animals" so I couldn't tell you what mine was. Though, it is something I am interested in looking into.

7) Is there anything else you think we should know about you, or that you'd like to share?

Umm... I'm vegan. I love tribal belly dancing. I love to read. And I'm really happy to be here :)
