I've never seen and never wanted to... But from what I've heard I would have disliked it if I had seen it.

I am looking for the movie, The Blair Bitch Project w/Linda Blair.
Does anyone have any info on where I may get my eager
little hands on a copy?

I only saw the first one and I was disappointed because of all the hype. It was interesting, but just was not my cup of tea.

Disco..
We don't all hate the Blair Witch, some of us like it, and some of us do not. Please check out the poll about the movies to see what I'm talking about. We can't make generalizations like that because they would be false... I can't tell you how Mol feels, or how Mairwen reacted, anything like that... I can only tell you how I feel.

I dont' hate the movie, some people hate the movie Practical Magic, but I absolutely adore it. What people dislike is the fact that "Hollywood" takes our ways and twists them and makes Pagan/Wiccans/Witches, etc. out to be something we are not, wheter devil worshippers, or people who harm others. That's why I think some people dislike the movie.

Personally, I didn't like the movie because I knew one of the actors growing up.(i've said this in a separate thread). So for me the movie didn't do anything for me. That's just IMHO.

However, a GREAT movie to go and see these days is "Shrek" the kids animated movie. I saw it with my son this past weekend and it was WONDERFUL!!!!! Lot's and lot's of laughs, not only for the kiddies but for the grown ups too. I laughed so hard, at one point, I was in tears. It was that GOOD!

Blair Witch? For a completely contrite ficticious garble it was worth seeing once. I give the creators props for making so much for spending so little. Not to mention they pulled a"war of the worlds" on a lot of people.

I saw the first one and really liked it. I think I liked the whole idea behind trying to make it look homemade better then the witch theme though.

Hate it? Nope, just thought it was very poor and had a negative impact where I happen to live.

It was another example of exploitation of any group's values and beliefs for profit. :(

I liked it......I liked both of them...I've explained my position on it before in the other posts but just wanted to add a thought I had...I think that the creators of it titled it wrong....named her wrong even......it should have been called the Blair Ghost....I think it would have been more accurate!! and it wouldn't have offended so many of the pagan community!!

Well, I must say that I didn't like the first one at all. Had I wanted to spend an evening listening to people scream, I could have stayed at home. Wait a minute; I was home. The best thing I can say about this movie is that it made a great make-out flick (can I say that here?). 8O 8O Now, the second film, even though it wasn't a great film, either, was much better than the first ~ at least it was watchable.

OMG you all saw Shrek? I loved it--I think the jokes were more adult oreinted though.
As for the Blair Witch Projects--I did dislike them both--did anyone watch the second movie backwards besides me? What aload of hooey! I wish they would stop making such drival about "us" no wonder other people are confused and frightened of us!!

Fawn...I didn't get the chance to watch it backwards yet...what's it like?? is it worth my time?? (from the sounds of it, no!!) What actually happens when you do watch it backwards??? You are exactly right...people go off of the crap and get scared when they know nothing about it except what they see in the movies!! But that is a whole other topic that has been touched on many times in other threads!!! I'm sure we can all go off again and again about the media & the movies!! .....errr :)

Elaine--no it would not be worth your time--I thought it would cool you know and it would show things in the order they happened nope still starts at the end and does nothing grand--in fact it was worse!!8O
Yes I bet you are right about starting a whole section about the movie industry misrepresenting us.

Hmmm...............I was severly dissapointed when I saw it the first time. I think it is a shoddy piece of media.

I loved "The Blair Witch Project"! I guess movies that do something different from the norm are my cup of tea. What I wish more people would point out is that it had nothing to do with witches. :) I thought it was a unique little tale of horror in the woods using a made up myth as a back drop. I thought the movie was actually quite intelligent. I personally didn't find anything in it that offensive.

Now the "sequel"; that was a silly high-priced Hollywood movie. The only think BWII had in common with the first movie was the two words "blair witch." It did play on stereotypes to make a buck. I enjoyed the soundtrack of BWII, though. ;)

Blessed Be, all...

Let's clear this for those who don't know. There is no Blair Witch. Never was. The movie creators pulled a war of the worlds on a lot of people. It was an interesting piece of filming done in an original fashion, but that's it.
