Gods forbid, in these tough economic times, there should be a new booming industry based on -gasp!- legal marijuana, with people actually making profits and paying taxes.

Idiot.

I just saw the video, and I have to say that this topic is definitely controversial for more than one reason.
First off, I think many people state that marijuana is illegal because it has adverse health benefits and that that's the main cause. However, in addition, there are also many cultural, political, and economic factors for its illegalization (new word lol).
I'm personally not a smoker and never will be, but I think it's important to not believe everything the media feeds you. The media, I think, is not unbiased, and our media is not objective.
I think many times the term politically correct has been thrown around at those we don't agree with in order to avoid looking at the issues objectively.
For example, someone could accuse CNN of being politically correct for showing both sides of the story and seeming to almost favor Jason's side. they could further accuse CNN of refusing to make a judgment call on the whole marijuana dispensory thing because that would be politically incorrect. However, I think that it's, again, important to look at both sides of the issue before calling people stupid or ignorant, not that anyone has done so on here.

While I personally do not smoke; I am a HUGE supporter of Medical Marijuana, hell... of legalizing in general.

Besides, isn't this beneficial to our tax deficit? This guy is going to sell if it's legal or not. So at least now, he's paying taxes. And if I'm not mistaken, it's pretty heavily taxed.

I think most drugs should be legal. The war against drugs is a joke and a drain of our resources that could be put to better use.

To a certain extent, I would agree.

I have no problem with medical marijuana, and I think it should be legal in general. I'm not passionate about it, as I don't smoke it myself, but I have no problem with it being legal. It's such a benign drug, as the only harm it causes is lung damage because of the smoke, but tobacco cigarettes do the same thing. It's not nearly as harmful as alcohol, which is a major part of human social life, and available everywhere.

I thinkt he main reason why marijuana is so controversial is because it's villainized in the media.
I guess in order for me to make up my mind fully about this, I'm just gonna have to read up more about it.
