Food poisoning??

I know this should be in Healthy Pagan, but I wanted as many of you to see this as possible.

We had friends over last night who love Japanese food. They wanted us to try different kids of sushi and rolls. (See where this is going?) Well the one guy called my hubby at work- he has been up since 2:30 am throwing up. Hubby said he is not feeling so good either. So far *knocks wood* I feel ok, but I only tried one piece of raw.

What kind of time frame am I looking at for hubby and I to get sick? If our friend got sick already, should we get it soon after? Could this be a virus?

Either way, energy would be good!

chryssi1, it might be a food poisoning.. but I'm thinking more it's a virus..

There's this "stomac virus" going on and it lasts for around 10 hours during which you are having very upset stomach. But after couple of hours, you are completelly fine..

I had it for one day..

It could be food poisioning..........but Kenny had a virus that hit him hard about 3 weeks ago......I'd say wait for a couple of hrs. and if you get sick, or your husband gets a lot worse...see a dr.

theres a narwalk virus going around here that is extremely contageous, doorknobs, to everything... could be that, it makes the person violently ill for 24-48 hours...

Yeah, in my experience with food poisoning, which oddly enough, I have quite a bit because I've had it and I've had two friend hospitalized for it . . . you should already be sick.

But that dang virus that's going around, if you picked that up from your friend then that will take a few days to incubate.

Well, hubby is ok- and so am I. I am thinking he was feeling sick from the power of suggestion and a sensitive stomach. So I am figuring virus. Which according the the article shnen posted, we're halfway through the incubation period (12-48 hours)...it's been 24 hourse since we saw him.

More fingers crossed. Stomach bugs are no fun!

For what it's worth almost every time we go for sushi Mol eats too much and makes himself sick.
