ok i was wondering could i not use candles could i use lava lamps for my altar i have different colored ones red blue green orange black and the bubbly stuff is wax so i was wondering....

The flame of the candle is symbolic of the element of fire - but I see no reason that if the colors in the lamps or other things that you are using on your altar provide that same symbolism that you wouldn't be able to use them.

It sounds like an awesome altar!
