What do you like to sleep in most? I just got a pair of flannell Jammies, and they are so incredibly comfortable. The only problem is, I can't actually SLEEP in them. I love wearing them around the house, and to lay on the couch watching movies, etc. But when it comes to actual bedtime, they're too warm :(

I sleep in the buff.. can't stand pj's getting caught in the sheets and stuff...
but I do have some silky (summer) or flannel(winter) jammies to bum around the house in :)

*laughs* I'm the same way Shnen!
It gets all tangled up when I sleep....hate that! But oddly enough I love buying sleepwear, so I've got a bunch of stuff to bum around the house in. Mostly yoga pants and tank tops. Had a pair of flannels that I wore into the ground and haven't been able to find a comparable pair since.

My house is semi-drafty. So I wear the kind of flannel things that have the button up top, then a tshirt for when I go to bed, since the flannel tops can be too warm. In the summer, I stick to boxers and tank tops.

It's too hot for me to wear pajamas here.... it's almost too hot to have even the one sheet on the bed. However, when I was in Canada, I'd bum around the house in anything flannel, but it was still too hot to sleep in anything (my hubby's my own personal furnace).

I'm with Shnen and Wanderer, hate sleeping in clothes - I get tangled up - but I have lots of jammies and such to lounge in, and to wear when there are other people around.

Actually, I was working on the theory that perhaps the jammies suit the persons personality. For instance, someone who likes to sleep in silky things, is accustomed to luxury. People who like to sleep in flannel items, might be more "cuddly" in nature, and a comfort seeker. A person who sleeps in the raw, either a very sensual person, or a very earthy, natural person. I'm currently working out the rest of them though :)

Hehe. Well, I make my own clothes for the most part. The dresses I wear are really comfortable. So to bed, I usually wear either old holy dresses but I really can check off any of the choices because it depends on my mood, the season, who is with me ( ;) ), etc. :)

Because Hubby prefers it I sleep in the buff.:D
Personally I would rather sleep in an oversized T-Shirt (summer) or flannel jammies in the winter.
I always have this fear of the house catching on fire, or a big storm blowing the house in and me having to run outside in the nude.

Flar gets so mad at me......I wear my flannel pj pants to the grocery store, etc. We have some matching ones with Japanese writing and other designs on them, and when I walked into a dollar store wearing them, the cashier and a customer went nuts over them, wanting to know where they could get some!
When I'm over here with Flar, I sleep in the buff, but at home I wear cotton and flannel sleep shirts because my son still lives with me.

Flannel jammies is my vote but I don't sleep in them...nekked is the only way. I have flannel sheets & the jammies would get all bunched up & uncomfortable. Flannel jammies are for the house & a quick trip to the grocery store. :D Always wish I could wear them at work too.

I'm with Mithrea.....women like to change what we wear (and reinvent ourselves) depending upon the season, mood, who we are with, etc....it is fun to 'dress up' in something silky when the mood...or occasion....or company.......seems right. Oh, and don't forget the joys of what we gals wear when the kids are babies and nursing! I'll bet there are more people out there who don't decide what to wear to bed until the last possible moment! :)

Depending on the season I sleep in either a t shirt or sweats. I get real cold in the winter. But even in the summer I need to be covered with something. I have this weird vulnerablity issue, always have had it. I have to be covered with something. Even if it is 100* I have to have a sheet covering my middle- I stick my legs out and my arms are out, but still sorta covered. Weird eh? ;)

I've slept naked since I moved out of my parents' house (tried it, discovered it was nice, and never looked back). I DO keep a nightshirt handy by the side of the bed in case of emergency - also because of many years of having roommates (never know who you're gonna run into on a late-night trip to the bathroom).
I don't plan on ceasing to sleep nude when I have kids, either. If the little muffins get freaked out by nudity, they can durned well learn to knock before going into Mom's room! :p
FaerySong
January 2nd, 2003, 02:08 PM
oversized t-shirts for me. In winter, I just have a zillion blankets on my bed, and summer I just have a sheet or one blanket. I wouldn't sleep in the nude because I have a tendancy to kick off the blankets, and I leave my door open, and I live with my family. If they came in to wake me up, they'd have a bit of a suprise :rotfl: As for the getting tangled up- hasn't happened to me unless I wear long sleeves and pants to bed.

Not wierd. :) I always have to have a blanket on me....(Even when at the computer..I get cold really easily). Or in 25* temp (78+ Farenheight) I'm still under a blanket. People think I'm crazy!

Um, tough question....
"All" wouldn't be right because then you'd think I wear everything all at once to bed... not so.
So "All but at different times" about sums it up!
It depends on my mood.

Seems like I"m not the only one... yeah, I sleep in the nude...only because I find pyjamas too warm under a goose-down duvet (even with the fan going all four seasons of the year in my room), and I usually get nightgowns wrapped around my neck by morning...so, birthday suit for me!!

Usually I wear pajama pants or sweat pants to bed with some t-shirt I got from playing volleyball or track. And I have to have a blanket on me.. or something. When it's cold, I have to be warm, but not to warm... and in the summer, I HAVE to have a fan on me, and I'll use it until I can't possibly sleep with it at all... like.. in November.

Following this thread I find it curious that so many "dress" to sleep. Unclothed is our natural state. If you sleep clothed then the few minutes you spend in the shower each day is all the naked time you get. It must be very frustrating.
As an experiment, you clothing sleepers should try a few nights in the buff and report back to us if it alters the quality or content of your dreams.

I have. However, I usually have a cat sleeping on top of me and when she wants my attention she claws me. When I'm in my pj's, I can't feel it. But when I'm buck naked, it hurts like hell.

Okay . . .
I chose flannel nightie, but here in CA they have them where they are very thin and no sleeves. I find them cooling during the summer and warm during the winter. However, I have all kinds of nightwear, depending on the night, weather, season, and company.
Generally:
Winter - Sweatpants, cami, sweater with two big comforters on the bed
Spring/Fall - flannel nightie/pajamas with cami and a sheet
Summer - on cool nights flannel nightie without any covers (I sleep with the window and curtains open during the Summer so I can't show everyone my business!), or naked with a sheet

I sleep in an old pair of pajama pants (I think they're cotton) and an oversized t-shirt. I could never sleep naked; I sleep on my side, so my legs would touch all night, and I'd wake up with a heat rash. In summer I sleep in a cotton nightgown, but I have to position it just right so that my legs have fabric in between them.
