Hey all! Happy New Year!

I'm back in the BVI, now, after spending a wonderful 2 weeks in Canada visiting families. It was really hard for me to come back, but now that I'm here, it's nice to be home.

Anyway, while I was visiting my family, I had a talk with my mom, who I told last year that I'm Wiccan. We've only recently been talking about it openly though, such as when I gave her a list of books she could get me for the holiday, etc.

Anyway, it turns out that her dad (who died when she was 16), was "sensitive", as she put it, in that he knew when things would happen. He even read tarot cards until he predicted his own death, and then never touched them again. He never told anyone the details of that reading, so no one knows if his death was what he predicted, (he had a heart attack). Well, we went on to discuss about how my mom is also "sensative" and empathic!! Imagine, that all this time I had no idea about this....it seems that those talents run in the family, and I think that's kinda neat.

Well, I can totally relate here. While I know that my one aunt reads cards and another has been doing astrology for years, many of my mother's family are also empaths and/or have some psychic abilities. I found out about 2 cousins of mine having abilities just a few years ago. They don't really use them though, they are so accurate that I think it scares them a bit.

I only recently found out that similar abilities are also on my father's side (though he'd never admit it). My grandmother apparantly knew things and knew that she was going to pass when she did. My father's sister also was interested in cards and astrology, thought I honestly don't think she had any abilities at all. My grandfather has known things, though he doesn't think he does.

I think that these things do run in families but that we are only now starting to really exam them.

Well, I never had a chance to talk to my parents about all this.. Now its even harder to do that, because we are very far from each other (physically: they are in Europe, I'm in US).

I know that my dad has a "sixth sense" (I call it), because he knows when something wrong is going to happen, or if someone is plotting something.. Very weird..

I never could lie to him ( :o), because he always (somehow) knew what the truth is even if he had no way of finding it out.. :rolleyes:

I think I got from him that ability but in a lot smaller form.. I can feel when something is wrong, but I can't tell specifically what it is like he can..
