The name's Jeffery, as you can obviously see. I'm twenty-seven years of age, however I will be turning twenty-eight in nine days. I reside in Southwestern, Ohio & I'm currently enrolled in a local Police Academy program. I begin said academy on the 12th of this month, but have been riding along with a local department as of late, observing on the job. My philosophical/religious path of choice is the Left-Hand Path. To be more specific, LaVeyan Satanism. For those curious as to what this entails exactly, allow me to provide a brief description.

LaVeyan Satanism was founded in 1966 by Anton LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, self-control, and "eye for an eye" morality, drawing influences from the rituals and ceremonies of occultist Aleister Crowley and the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ayn Rand. Employing Crowley's terminology, its adherents define Satanism as a "Left-Hand Path" religion and philosophy, rejecting traditional "Right-Hand Path" religions such as Christianity and Wicca for their perceived denial of life and, as in Christianity, emphasis on guilt and abstinence. Unlike Theistic Satanism, LaVeyan Satanism does not involve the literal worship of any being other than the self, but rather uses "Satan" as a symbol of carnality and earthly values, of man's inherent nature, in what it calls 'ritual psychodramas'.

In a nutshell, in my own words, I'd describe LaVeyan Satanism as a religion/philosophy for the strong. For those who wish to get the most out of life & to indulge. However, indulgence, not compulsion is key, since self-preservation is above all else, the highest law. It's an extremely anti-narcotic, anti-self destructive religion & many of its members are in law enforcement, the military & fire programs. Most of the political views are very right-wing too, which coincide with my political views, though it really has no bearing on whether one is a Satanist or not.

I had realized many years ago that I was an atheist. I did not believe in the Christian God, or the Christian Devil. Theistic Satanists, which are those who actually worship Satan as a deity, are reverse Christians & buy into the Christian concepts of Satan/Lucifer. As a LaVeyan Satanist, we adopt Satan as a symbol of freedom & pride. In Hebrew, Satan means Adversary, One to accuse. Lucifer means Light-bearer. We reject the Christian concept of Satan as being evil, because we also feel that evil is subjective & left up to interpretation(s). LaVeyan Satanism is a religion of the flesh & carnality. When I first read The Satanic Bible I viewed it as a mirror, to a way of life in which I was already living long before ever realizing that I was a Satanist. I had always treated people the way in which they treated me, indulged, but always kept myself in check & never allowed myself to become compulsive with my passions. I don't believe in scapegoats & I'm a firm believer in responsibility to the responsible. It's not a religion for everyone, however some might be living as Satanists & not even know it!

My main passion/hobby would easily be: reading & collecting books. I enjoy reading about such things as religion, occultism, philosophy, psychology, mythology, true crime/serial murder, forensic pathology, history, WWII, horror/macabre, music/musicians, etc. I'm also a huge fan of music. I enjoy everything from Bluegrass to Death/Black Metal. I love basketball & I'm a huge Cleveland Cavaliers supporter. I'm really excited on the weather situation as of late & the warm temperatures. I really enjoy being outside, running, shooting basketball, hiking & getting my blood pumping in anyway shape or form. I'm currently involved with a beautiful young lady, who's an atheist & her two boys, who are six years old & four years old. I'm a homebody for the most part, but enjoy an evening out for a cocktail & people watching. I look forward to bringing nothing but positivity to the table here & look to get involved in many discussions.

I'll also provide a few pictures for everyone, for it's always nice putting a face to a name.

Thank you!

Wow, that was very educational! I had a vague idea about what LaVeyan Satanism meant but no one had ever explained it that succinctly to me before. Seems quite practical. :) Thank you for joining our community, I'm sure you will provide an interesting perspective for us.
