I have been looking for the name of a deity I used to call to when I was young. I remember requesting the help of a goddess who would be looking out for women/females.

Tonight, I stumbled onto Aradia... and that name sounded very familiar to me so I grew extremely excited. When I saw it I felt like I I already knew this name and when I read her description in wikipedia (yes, I know it's not the most credible source in the world, but it's what I have at the moment-- which is why I'm here asking you guys;) ) I had even more questions.

Am I to understand that only Wiccans believe she exists? Is she believed to be a goddess in the roman pantheon? I would love more information on who she is and what you guys have to say about her.

Thank you! ^.^

Oy! The more I look into it the more confused I get..

Is she a book character? a Moon Goddess? a true Daughter of Diana? or just in Wiccan lore?.. which begs the question.. what EXACTLY is wiccan lore?

I'm just more lost and feeling more stupid *sigh*

Here's some links, as I'm not exactly an expert on her myself...although, I don't think she's a Wiccan Goddess really, as far as I've always heard, she's important to the Stregheria tradition, and maybe you've seen all these already ;
