I've recently received a rosary from a friend and am interested to know if others have one and how you use it? Also, I've made up a simple chant to use with it but I'm wondering what other people recite.

I'm using mine right now as a tool for meditation, since I don't practice magic all that often.

I've found a couple of good sites on rosaries and their uses:

MoonOwl I got a string of rosaries as well! I'm so glad you started this thread! I've been using mine mostly for prayer and some for meditation. But I was also interested in finding chants and the correct way to use the rosary.

Also they have a couple of threads in the Arts Forum.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm just starting to use a rosary again - I'm a recovered Catholic and although I cried when my aunt gave me one that she had made for me with my kids' names in the beads after I'd embarked on this path, I haven't used one since I was a child. A friend recently gifted me with a beautiful one.....I'm going to remove the crucifix and replace it with a goddess pendant that is too big to wear.

And I've recently been drawn to Mary and some of the saints as goddesses, so this is a very timely topic for me :)

Freyja, I'm glad this was an appropriate post for you as well. I think adjusting your Catholic rosary sounds like a great idea! :)

Wow! I don't have rosaries, though I do want to get some.

You wouldn't believe how many people chided me for wanting rosaries. I'd wanted to take off the cross and replace it with a pentacle.. and I was told it would be insulting to do that. -_- I don't believe it would be since I wouldn't be doing it out of malice or desecrating the rosary.

Well, this has renewed me into wanting rosaries of my own!

Thank you!

I showed mine to Hubby and I was pleasantly surprised when he said he like to have some. Only he'd want his to reflect his Native American heritage. I plan on making him some for his birthday (Feb.) using leather, buffalo horn and or bone, crow beads, and feathers.:)
