New color scheme poll

Here we go again...only this is a little bit of a twist. First we will vote on whether or not to vote...uh what??

Oh yeah, see there is the option of doing seasonal color schemes vs just voting and deciding periodically. There could still be the option to vote for which of several schemes you like for a particular season somewhere down the line.

This is coming up now because we are wanting to get started on a new scheme for next month. It will be special for a couple of reasons...a certain site couple throwing some vows down, Imbolc, Valentine's day, and of course MW's 2nd anniversary. I wanted to do pink & pinker, but Mol is trying desperately to talk me out of it!

Anyway we wanted to see what you all think about changing each season and not voting each time like we are now...any suggestions are welcome as always.

You know, I am just shocked and appalled by people here insinuating that we take our polls seriously. On the contrary. I find them to be done with a certain lightheartedness that makes me dance with glee. To have the power to choose is such a democratic process and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Just because one or two may have gone a tad overboard, do not condemn the polling process here on MW. It is a wonderful thing our Site God and Goddess do, including us in the big decisions for this wonderful community.

I know for myself, I personally have never gone over the deep end when it comes to polls. (Vote Chris-Moose & Patrick! :2G: ) I have always looked at them from afar with a kind of awe and reverence. To come here and have such simplicity in an otherwise chaotic world...Well, it makes me feel all tingly in my giblets. :D

I'm not saying all polls go overboard. I've just been noticing that the colour polls are the ones that people tend to go overboard on... I quite enjoyed the first colour poll I took part in. However, the last 2, I was warned by a member or two to not to get too deep into "war" part of it, because people do get a bit into a hissy fit if you pick on them/their colour for one reason or another. :rolleyes:

Well, ok so the pink and pinker would get old really quick. I can't help it, we are getting ready to paint Trinity's room...finally and we are doing...tada pink and purple with little daisy flower border. She will love it!!

I would like to see the colors on MW change. I remember when the color changed to green. It took me a few days to get used to it, but I ended up loving it. I'm sure that I would love a new color as well.

ACK...no skins! We want everyone to enjoy/suffer the same color scheme. That is why we will change it more often.

Ok.. so I voted for seasonal changes, but I have a problem. You see... most of the people here are on the wrong side of the planet and that means that it'll be all upside down for me. But on the other hand, I really like this green combo and don't really want it to change.

What about the readers south of the equator (australia, et al). They will be reversed from your color scheme (you will have reds and yellows for summer, and it will be snowing for them!)

This is true...someone else expressed some disdain of everything being Americanized and I wish we could make everything suitable to all but its just not possible. Since the server is located here in the US, and the people that will be doing the graphics, etc are in the US...then we will probably go by this for seasonal info as well.

Oh! No! It wasn't disdain! Honestly! I was just pointing something out! I understand that with you being American, it's pretty much a given that you'd go with whatever seasons you're having! I mean, if it was my site/board, I'd expect members to accept that I'm gonna go by my seasons.

Please..no pink for valentines day..pleasee?????????? I wouldn't mind a nice white with a pink or red border..but..no major red/pink color with a deeper/lighter border..blech..color overload.

As for spring....we're green now. When I think of spring, I think of green.

However..how about a nice sunny yellow color..nothing to bright and painful on the eyes, a pastel like yellow though..representing the sunshine. I mean..it could also be really good as an imbolg deal. Because Brid, Candlemas, etc. And for Ostara...think little chicks, and duckies being yellow.

For Yule, I would say a nice soft light blue/grey color, with a snowey scene. Or even a dark blue background, and a banner with some stars in it...like the dark sky at night. maybe with some snow flakes, too. Or dark green, with some red somewhere in the banner, like holly, and mistletoe, or some green with gold in it.

Although for Samhain, black would be cool..what would also be cool is a nice brown autumnal color..soft browns, oranges, reds, and golds....this way, it would be good not only for samhain, but for the three harvest sabbats together.

For the Summer Sabbats, some bright blues, symbolizing maybe the ocean, or the clear summer sky. Or deeper greens, symbolizing the tree's being full...the color of leaves.

Ya Know, Semele, For our "Celtic" lineage members, the plaid might be nice. But then they'd start fighting over who's plaid should be used (which tartan) and things could REALLY start to get ugly.
