Still Around.....

Just wanted to drop in an' let ya know I'm still around...;)
I've been helping get my mothers things moved from her place to mine (in storage) while she re-couperates in a nursing home from a diabetes-related illness.
Only problem I have with moving mom's stuff......BIG BIG spiders:eek: :woah: :bug: :ahhhh: :shaker: all over in her shed....once...they got a hold of one of the kids and tried to drag her away:eek:
We got her back...she's fine now:p :D :nyah:
Tomorrow we should have all her stuff moved....Whewwwww!!!

Spiders are bad. Recently I was running a bath and wrapped myself in a towel so I could put some laundry in the washer... and I felt something on my shoulder. Thinking it was my hair I went to brush it away, but it was a humungous wolf spider clawing at me and drooling and growling with it's beady eyes all... ok, so maybe it wasn't doing all that... but it was creepy...

My arm was scratched up for a day or two from me frantically scraping to get it off...

I've got to admit that while I'm not fond of spiders in general, I do like daddy longlegs, more so since I discovered that they eat roaches! :D

We've been fighting an ongoing battle with a roach invasion, so every time I see a longlegs chowing down on one I say "Nice spider, good spider!"

So far as the rest of their multi-legged ilk, however...

I think that spiders are amazing, fascinating creatures that have a very important purpose in nature.

That purpose is best served as FAR away from me as possible!

While I agree with this.... I still don't think they have to be so damned creepy! What's with the hairy legs and such?! Do you know what it's like to wake in the middle of the night cause something's tickling your arm and you find out it's a spider!! I really really really really didn't like that...

Anyhows... reminds me of yet another of my spider incidents. When I was much younger and still living with my mom, I woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare to find a spider on my ceiling right above my head.... well naturally I freaked and then spent the remainder of the night in the lounge room....

We have large black hairy spiders with green iridescent spots around the outline of their backs...actually these spiders, despite their size, are really laid back types...never bite, and we never kill them..... But we live in terror of the Black Widows and Brown Recluses we occasionally see.....The big spiders eat those things and any other insect that happens along.......We have some Daddy Long legs that we move out of our way if we see them..........The Big Black things we don't mess with at all...Where do our Big Black Spiders sleep? Any where they want to..........:eek:

Daddy longlegs eat roaches? "Here DADDY Here DADDY..."

My move to AZ Has taught me the true meaning of scared of bugs. MY God/dess.... the Roaches are the size of mice here. And all the poisonious aracnids.. Oh ick. You know, if it wasn't so dang cold and damp I would move back to MN just to get away from these awful things.

Unlucky for the spider!!!!! I have an extreme spider thang since we moved up here!! :blushake:
