Yeah yeah I know this question has been worn out to death, but I have to ask it again. How do you know that you've got your Patron deity or how do you go about getting one? And why does one need a Patron? j/w, these are thoughts that pop in my head very often, so if anyone could help me with answers, they'd be most appreciated.
Blessed Be,
Caitlin

I will tell you that it took me a long time to connect with the first one, Freyja - and now I have three :) Hekate was next and I recently found Selene - which is really cool since one is a maiden, one a mother and one the crone.

Hopefully, Freyja answered your question, Caitlin. The thead that Freyja directed you to is a good read if you are interested in finding a patron deity. In my opinion, look at symbols in your every day life and dream. Are there specific symbols associated with a deity that have been drawing you in? Perhaps, a deity could be trying to catch your attention. Also, try meditating. You just know when you have found your god or goddess. It feels right. Sorry that doesn't help to much. But really, I think that a lot of it is based on faith.

*nods* Yes, and individual experience and circumstance. I was drawn to Freyja through my experience with the runes and she confirmed her presence to me during a Norse ritual that I was blessed to participate in. Hekate also made herself known to me during a Sabbat ritual - and I'd been terrified of her prior to that. I found Selene through listening to a song about her on a tape that a friend had given to me. The lyrics really touched my soul and amazingly touched on the needs in my life right now.
As Mnemosyne said, pay attention to what's going on around you every day and to your dreams and thoughts. Keeping yourself open is a large part of invoking your patron deities.

I will try these ways tonight, thank you so much for your help. =) Brigid draws to me, because of my gift for poetry and other crafts, and I am much in love with celtic things and the Old World.
