View Full Version : Shifting dreams

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this.

I'd say for the last few months I've been having odd dreams about shapeshifting. The first involved me performing multiple changes from a wolf into an eagle and then into a fish of some kind, to navigate through this risky artificial river (I say artificial as in it transformed from a theme park rapid kind of thing, with a white boat). It was one of those dreams where you can see from within and without. I didn't get a feeling of power as such from the shapechanging, more of a duty performed.

Then, after a spate of wolf-shifting dreams in various locations (and on different nights), including a city, I had a strange one where I accidently summoned (yet not through ritual, I just 'did' it) some kind of dragon creature. It went badly out of control and then I found us (as there were several other people with me) in deep trouble. In the end I found myself jumping and shifting into a dark dragon-like creature (though much smaller), landing on an ornate balcony. I got the feeling I was going to battle the 'dragon', though with no guarantee of success.

I then woke up.

Now, I'm not asking for the 'Answer', just any thoughts or comments. I think I'm suffering from anxiety and a spate of indecisiveness, as well as mild depression. No idea if that has any bearing, but it might help. The shifting itself was painless as far as I remember, but this all could be just from my wild imagination. :)

Regards.

What do wolves represent to you?
Eagles?
Fish?
Dragons?

What if the dream was about being strong and decisive, without anxiousness - just performing duties and activities, free from problems and concerns? Shifting into something beautiful, free, and instinctive, from the rush of the mundane rat race of anxiety, depression, etc.?

I'm still looking into the meaning of those creatures to me, I'll post on that at a later date.

But, I never thought of it that way. General consensus has it that dreams are indicative of our subconscious; so perhaps this is my free side, the one unfettered by the depression etc. Thanks for giving me that alternative outlook! :)
