How do you feel about the vocal/energetic channeling of beings? What is your experience? What beings do you channel? I hear that it can be taxing on the body. What can channeling offer that is different from tarot, runes, etc... ?

Perhaps you could define your meaning of channeling and what your talking about?

I know my definition, for me, is when I channel, I am tapping in, going into a being. Its all spirit/mind. I never heard of anything 'vocal'?

Tiring? Perhaps. All depends on the circumstances all involved, time, what, how, why...etc.

For my runes, tarot and such are getting info subconsciously, passively.
Channeling in more a direct active plug in.

This is all just my ways. I dont know about what others do, define or what not.

Channeling is indeed a broad term and we do channel all the time. (an artist painting, meditating, healing, etc...)

I'm referring to when people channel a being, letting that being speak through them to give another person information.

I'm a little bit skeptical. I don't doubt that the kind of channeling you are referring to does happen but there is so much so called channeled material out there it is difficult to know what to take seriously and what to take with a large piece of salt.
I'm the kind of person who believes that where-ever possible information has to be checked and verified.

I think a lot of mediums can find it taxing on their body depending on who they are channeling and the methods they use.

I don't "channel" anyone or anything specifically although I am sure that a lot of my inspiration comes from tapping into the universe in a general way. Also through my path and my magical practices I am "open" to my Goddess, but I don't really want to go into the specifics of that.

I'm also quite skeptical. It also seems a bit unnecessary when we have great tools like tarot to help bring insight into a person's life. Tarot and other tools like it are effective and not as taxing on the body. However, I am still curious to learn more and hear other people's experiences. I am curious to learn what channeling has to offer.

I have a friend who channels. If you like more information I could see if she would join here or allow me to send you her information. While I believe this type of channeling happens I do believe there are a lot of fakes out there as well.:boing:

Never had an experience nor knew anyone that could actually do such a thing with another living being.
IMO, that sounds more like mind reading or living possession or something.

Channeling in this way definitely is a willing possession of sorts.

Well I am other kin and once i channeled what i think was my past life self.
I blacked out and when i came back everyone in the room was staring at me like they had seen a ghost. i had no memory of what happened.
I asked my god mother what had happened and she said i started talking in another language.

She didn't know what language it was. so i played some sound clips for her. i made sure not to tell her what language each of them was (so there would be no bias). she pointed out the elvish one. I dont know how to speak it. but apparently i was talking really fast and saying a bunch of stuff.

This happened when i was getting alot of visions of my past life and even did some automatic writing to channel and communicate with my past life self. so i guess one day she kinda possessed me and was talking through me.
