God of astral travel

Does anybody know of a God that helps you travel to different realms?

There's Papa Legba, the Opener of the Doorway in Haitian vodou. He's a Lwa, not a god per se, and normally accesses Guinee, the voudou spirit world. The subtle realms are all connected, though, so He could easily bring you to, for example, the Akashic library or Faerie instead.

I would extend a huge line of caution in that regard.

Why is it that you desire to rely on a deity or other entity for astral travel?

Also, I've found it rarely works in ones favor to "befriend" a being of most sorts just to use them as a tool. It may end up costing you quite a bit in the long run. Please, be cautious.

If you are going to call upon an entity, be sure to research them thoroughly. Be specific, and be precise. Working with unfamiliar entities rarely ends well. <_<

I'd agree with RoseKitten, you shouldn't need to rely on a God, or another being, for astral travel, there are some good books written on the subject to teach you how to project on your own, Robert Monroe has written some very cool books (I like 'Journeys Out of Body', and, I have started his other ones yet).

Calling on Gods, IMO, is something that should only be done if you really need their help, not for something you can do yourself.

I've been receiving lessons from Djehuty (AKA Thoth) from the Egyptian Pantheon in regards to Astral projection. It involves focus using the resonance of saying his name (which he taught me a not-so-common version) and visualising him in his baboon state (grounded) taking your hand and then transforming into his ibis form (astral) whilst taking your astral body out of the physical body.

There were some other techniques/methods I was also taught and I've been working on opening my 3rd eye this month, as when I do project, I find that I am blind as I don't open my eye.

I'll have to try that, it seems much easier and having a better chance of working since he is a god.
