I would like to brag a bit about how I helped in making the general public aware of the true nature of Wicca.
A few weeks ago all people from our Polish Wicca mailing list got an e mail from a journalist who wanted to write an article about Wicca in Poland. She asked us to write to her and help her by providing the sources of information and sharing our experiences. At first I wasn't sure whether to reply and whether this article was going to turn out really objective and truthful. However, when our moderator told us that the journalist was her friend's friend from college and that she was to be trusted, I decided to write to her.
I was afraid she'd make me the chief witch of Poland, but fortunately many people wrote to her. She send me the article she's written and I admit that she's done a good job. There are the general principles of Wicca explained, a bit about magick, the history of Wicca and the Wiccans in Poland, including some statistics provided by a woman who's writing her thesis about Wicca.
The article's going to be published soon in a national newspaper and I hope at least a couple of people are going to learn something from it and understand us better.
Now I can say that I've done something to help establish Wicca as an acknowledged religion in Poland. I'm proud of myself:cool:
