Hail! my name is British Knight and i am interested in finding out more about the Pagan Path and more specifically joining an Odinist/asatruar organsation

I am currently a member of the Church of England but I was and never had been 'content' with Christian type of beliefes.

I became interested in Odinism after I read a book called Norse Mythology and also a book called Pagan Paths. I cant remember the author of either titles.

Christianity constantly stresses 'equality' of all people of this earth and seem to care nothng of promoting White culture and making you proud of your race.

Christians seem to feel it is more important to turn the other cheek, Love your enemies, hate your own race etc...
Christianity also stresses that man should dominate the enviroment and care nothing for the eco-sytems and reprecussions that follow.

I have to admit I am not knoweledgable on the other Pagan religouns such as Witch craft and Druidism. If anybody can explain key belifes or tenets of those religouns or provide websites so that I can find out more. Then ill be greatful!

I was thinking of joining the Odinic-Rite soon after they get back in touch with me. Is anybody here an Odinist or member of that group?

Thank you all and I hope to learn more about Pagan Belifes

So, do you think the White race is superior or just that White people should be proud of their culture?

I certanly dont think that the 'white race' is superior, however having said I do belive that we have accomplished great things and should not have to walk around with guilt trips hating ourselves like the politicall correct liberlas would have us belive.
I am in favour ofa renaissance of all white culture. That is why im looking into extending my knoweledge into paga belifes an practices as I now belive that they are an integral part of white culture being the Organic indigenous religons of northern white people.

Greetings and Welcome, British Knight!

There are many links and informative threads around here (you may want to try New Pagans first), and, of course, many members here who will happily give you their view on any topics.

If you're looking for sites, I posted some pages of links in New Pagans (Tranquility requested links as he had his favorites folder wiped from his comp).

I'm not too well versed on Norse Mythology and deities, but the pages I posted for Tranq have a fair bit on Celtic Mythology and Druidry if you're interested in reading up on it.

Anyhows, hope you stick around a while. It's a great place to make friends and to learn something new each visit. :)

British Knight Thanks for clearing that up. Your first post sort of had me on edge.
I think I am a liberal by most people's standards, but I don't think Whites should have to be ashamed of their race either. No one can live their life like that without feeling some resentment, and that is what leads to hate groups.

Oh, and welcome! :)

Welcome, British Knight. I used to live in Essex myself, in the Brentwood area.

I'm not so sure about the "white" culture thing, I have to say. . . There are so very many different cultures that might be considered "white" that have little connection with each other that it seems to be a mischaracterization. And unfortunately, the idea does carry some very ugly connotations.

Christianity, by the way, has been the driving force behind the spread of what might be considered "white" culture for more than a 1000 years, and the impetus for exploration and expansion of European peoples and cultural ideals. As a student of history, I find you can't get away from the connection between the two.

However, if you want to read about the ways in which indigenous religions in Britain overlapped each other to form the body of literature that we recognize as uniquely British, you might start with "Gods, Heroes, and Kings: The Battle for Mythic Britain" by Christopher Fee. It discusses the way a combination of Celtic, Roman, Germanic, and Norse mythologies informed the Christian beliefs of medieval England and its cultural results. It's a very accessible piece of scholarship. I believe it's published by Oxford UP.

Good luck with your research - you might post in the Books or History section for more reading ideas.

(I'm entitled to my opinion)

Also, some of the best people to ask for information. check out the book forum for the reviews, and everyone's got websites.
