Hi, I guess I'll start off with a little background info about my religious interests.

I was a Wiccan for a few years from my teens until about when I was around 22 or so.

Then gradually I started reading the Bible and watching EWTN on cable. And I found that I really liked EWTN's programing.

And that was very much to my surprise, because up until that point I had never believed in Jesus or anything that was Christian.

So slowly but surely my religious views started changing. Then at that time I started incorporating the Virgin Mary into my prayers and rituals almost as a Goddess figure, but still that didn't feel quite right to me.

So that's when I knew I had to find a way to blend the Catholic/Christian side of my beliefs with my love of all things witchy and occult.

So for now I've basically decided to be a rather traditional Catholic (or just as traditional as I can be :smileroll).

While still learning as much as I can about the process of magick and spells.

I'm also looking to learn all that I can about Druidism and Gnostic beliefs.

And of course, I'm always looking for people who can teach me more, and can share my beliefs and interests.

Thanks for reading this abnormally long post.:weirdsmil

Welcome!! As a Christian Witch myself, I can understand how hard it can be to blend both Christianity and Paganism into a path.

I hope you enjoy your time in here.

If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to contact me. :)

:welcome:

Merry Meet,
I am finding myself with the same dilema, only the other way around. First Christian and now/again Wiccan. May you find all the answers you seek and be Blessed on your spiritual path.

Hi, I am new here also.

I can relate to your interests in two differnt religions.

My dad was Catholic and my mom never actually said what group she belonged to other then it was not Christian. Most of her teachings could be considered kitchen witchery. Dad's viewpoint won out and I ended up going to a Catholic school for 12 years. (grammer and highschool). For all of my life, I wanted to be a witch, but had this Catholic training and mom's imput. Very confusing. Needless to say, the pagan in me won.

There is a magical tradition called Santeria. (before I upset someone, let me say I have had no formal training in it, but became a follower of a Goddess in it, so if I make some mistakes, please feel free to correct them.)

As I understand, It is a Religion from Africa. When the slaves were taken from their land, they gave their Gods and Goddesses Catholic idenities so they could continue to worship the Gods and Godesses they loved. That is the only way they could keep thier religion under the harsh and terrible circumstances. So, for Example; Oshun (Goddess of love and prosperity to name a few things) is an aspect of Mary, Jesus's mother in Christianity. etc.

Perhaps this might be something you may be interested in. There are several goods books on the subject. One excellent one is written by Louisa Teish. I can't remember the name anymore (getting old, you know) but I'm sure you can locate it.
