Hi all!
I've been gone a bit,but lots of stuff happening!
I have a cairn in my back yard. It's built of Crystals that are 20-30 lbs in size, and some smaller.Around it I'd put smaller crystals I've found in my yard and made various designs.A wheel, spirals etc. Then some red stones around that to keep it all in during rain.At Beltaine,as I watched moonlight on the cairn(which is sparkly and beautiful)little dots of lights appeared as I danced around it.These light seemed to follow me as I danced around the rest of the yard.I could see them with my peripheral vision, and they seemed to dance behind me.I suspect they're a form of elemental or faeries as they're sometimes called.Never thought about these type of creatures before, but it's so cool. They're still there, and I meditate there at night.
Last week I got a truckload of topsoil. So around the outside of the red stone circle,I put old stumps and big tree limbs,to keep the soil from covering the cairn..Then I dumped soil outside of that and closed it in with railroad ties and more limbs and old boards.I also got all the old tires and rims the trash truck won't take and made planters of those. Before this the area was weeds, red dirt, and gravel, other than the cairn.I have tons of trees too.I'm planting hardy perennials around the area.Talking to each plant, taking my time.I have Mexican Petunias,Daisies,Purple sage,an Azalea, echinacea, purple periwinkles too.Stuff that can survive 100 degree summers I hope.I also planted some Marigolds which are annuals.
So,if anyone can give me info on these creatures, let me know. Also,do you think they'll like the garden?I meditated on them and I hope they do!!
Peace and Love

That sounds really lovely!!

One thing I did for the fey once (I've not done it since we moved) ~ and I did it because the ones we had were particularly naughty, and this provided them with something to do! ~ was along similar lines, but on a much smaller scale.

I used a small, clear glass dessert dish and placed in several small crystals and some of those "decorating gems" you can get at WalMart and home decor shops. I filled the dish partially with water (with some of the crystals sticking out on top like little islands), then sprinkled the surface of the water with white glitter.

It worked to keep them amused and out of trouble. ;)

Wow, wish I could do that. My dog would tear up anything she could. And you find crystals in your yard? Last time I dug I found toys I lost when I was like six!

Wow, that sounds amazingly beautiful. All I do is give the as-yet-unseen faeries near me some milk...they must feel quite shortchanged! :D :D

Really? Even more so than wine? That would be a good thing, 'cause I don't think my mom would relish giving up some wine to me--and the reasoning "But Mo-om, it's for the faeries!" probably would be met with a withering look and a straightjacket. :D

Try honey - served on a fresh flower petal bowl. I use the magnolia blossom petals. :)

that is so wonderful... if the backyard in my building wasn't "violated" so often i wish i could do similar things... it is a wonderful thing to have your garden visited by the fae... I hope they continue to be regular visitors!

Hi all!
Wow!Some great responses.
I already had ribbons tied on the trees near the cairn,I added a little gold bell.I've been lighting candles out there and I also leave little offerings, such as a little wine or some food.I didn't know about the milk or honey, but I have a honeysuckle bush back there.I still see the little critters if I meditate there awhile,,but not as well as after I do a ritual.
The big crystals come from my aunt's house in the Arbuckle Mts of South Oklahoma. The smaller ones are all over,I think someone had rock gardens here, lots of shiny quartz crystals, though some are just quartz stones.
Yeah,I have 2 dogs and 2 cats.In fact the area was used first to bury some old faithful family pets. They don't knock it over.I don't spend too much money on the plants though, dogs will be dogs.
Hey Mairwen! What do you mean by naughty?I haven't had any troubles with them.Should I expect some?
Anyway,thanks for the tips!
Peace and Love

Birghtstar--if I was a faerie, and you set up such a nice hangout for me, you can bet I wouldn't give you any trouble. :D
