Hey there. Like the title says, I have two questions.

1. Could a person who is not a practicing Wiccan still worship the Horned God and the Triple Goddess?

2. Are Wiccans permitted to practice Ceremonial Magic (like Goetia or Enochian)?

kthanks!

Yes and Yes :uhhuhuh:

The Horned God and Triple Goddess do not belong to Wiccans.
From my understanding, Wiccans can do whatever they like as long as it 'harms none'. That would fall under eclectic Wicca.

As generic figures, you are correct. Although trad Wiccans do worship two very specific deities. Anyone can worship them, but only those of the trad know the real names. :) Also, your idea of the rede is a bit off. There are very specific practices to being Wiccan, and "harm none" isn't technically one of them. Since this isn't the first time you've misrepresented the rede, I'll explain it better. Also note that while some people take the rede literally, most people don't.

Have you ever heard a parent/grandparent as "well, are they hurting anyone?" when speaking of kids? The intent being, if they aren't hurting anyone, just let them play. The rede works in a similar manner. If it doesn't harm anyone, then have fun. This does not mean you *can't* harm anyone, but only that you will have to deal with the consequences of your actions. Now, once we understand that pretty much every action can cause harm in some way, we realize that the rede is just really good, old school advice. "Try to be a good person, and take responsibility for your actions." The rede encourages and empowers us to be good people, but doesn't tell us we have to be fluffy pushovers who never take action.

Yes, the Rede is more or less a moral guideline, and there are even others that have more adherence to The Charge. There's already an "element" of ceremonial magic(k) in Wicca, and if adhering to "laws" mentiond, little you're permitted not to do, which is why it's perfectly acceptable to practice ceremonial magick, and even another religion. (Assuming they're reciprocal)

Go for it.

It could be because it is so early in the morning and im just a little fuzzy, lol. But, I am confused. Are you saying that if one is not Wiccan then they will not know the true names cause its only for Wicca, or that one who is not in the coven/group/whatever will not know the names as the coven/group/whatever see it?

I is confused.

Traditional Wicca is oath bound, and this includes the deities that are worshiped. I'm not saying that it isn't possible to have these two deities tell you their names, but only that you would have no way to know if they were really the Wiccan gods unless you were Wiccan. Now, for non trad wicca, this of course does not apply, as any other flavor of wicca runs on the "I do what I want" mentality.

Trad Wicca is an oath bound priesthood that worships and serves two specific deities in specific ways. If you aren't trad, or just don't care about the trad itself, then you can do whatever you like. I personally don't see trad Wicca and neo-wicca as the same thing. It is important though, when discussing wicca, to be specific as to what type you're (general) asking about. :weirdsmil
