Hello everyone,
My name is Nicole and I am new to the site, I have been on for a week or so but this is my third time on the actual site. I am also new, again, to paganism, neopaganism ect. I have been reading this and that trying to figure out what exactly I am and was wondering how everyone else found their path because right now I feel midly lost. As a child my father was Christian and my mother was Greek Orthodox and my Aunt was actually the person who introduced me to Wicca and "white magick" as she explained it at the time. Then I had my friends who, as children, came across it and to them it was "the thing to do" at the moment, I was the only one to really stick to it until I realised that I, at the time, was completely lost cause they were just looking for power trips and were mixing everything together between Celtic, Gypsy, Paganism and Wicca.

Now I am looking forward to relearning the proper way(s) and finding the right path for me, I just dont know where to start?? Please help =)

Thank you for the kind welcoming. I have a million questions lol. Like how do you find out who your Diety is or how do you know when you have found the right path? Should I follow all the God's and Goddess'? What colors mean what?, Can you mix stones and crytal magicks together? How do I go about finding the right tarot cards ect. Like I said a million questions.:hahugh:

Welcome to the boards. As for you "millions of questions" know that everyone has had tons of questions and still do. Like our pp said, check out the forums and find answers. My suggestion to you is to take a deep breath. Relax. and Read. Read the forums. Read the books suggested. As for finding your Diety, well, it's been my experience that YOU don't find THEM...THEY find you. :)

Welcome to MW. *passes some Blue Lemonade and a plate of cookies*

First, as far as this advice goes, you'll likely get a lot of opinions. What matters is finding what works for you.

Finding deity is a very personal experience. Some people go through a lot of different deities in their path, others don't. I only have one patron, and she is the only one I've ever dedicated myself to. Although, I am also a BTW seeker, but I'm just waiting that out to see what happens. I think it would be quite impossible, and ill advised, to follow *all* the deities there are. In some cases there is also debate as to the validity of some deities, because ancient texts described them as demons and so on, but they are worshiped in modern times as deities.

I recommend that you do a lot of research on deities that call to you, before working with them. This doesn't always mean a full on super extensive research project, but more then the basics. History and lore are some of the best ways to learn of deities, because there are some that in modern times, like what you learn in school, is either inaccurate, or missing a lot. Deities like Aphrodite, who I learned in school was a super friendly goddess and all about love and such. She's much deeper then that. I've seen that it works best for people to know what they're getting into with a deity instead of just jumping in head first and finding out later that they've made a huge mistake. The best way to find deity, is to study what calls to you. If there's a particular culture or time period you are curious about, read.

I was obsessed with Egypt as a child, and within the last few years I discovered Sumer. That is where I found my patron, and I actually didn't find her via study about Egypt, but that type of culture/time period, has always called to me, and now it makes sense. :)

I'm not sure what you mean about mixing stone/crystal magic, because I view them as the same field. For tarot cards, check out this site: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/ They list all the tarot decks there are. Look through and see if something calls to you. I found my first deck while browsing on amazon, and I've had it for over 13 years. Two of my decks were found using the site I linked, and the fourth was gifted to me, and is actually a sister deck to one that I had purchased a few months prior.

Don't worry about what title you are, or what your specific path is, at this point. Study what calls to you, ask questions, and don't try to fit yourself into a box quite yet. Good luck, and feel free to PM me if you have any other questions, or just don't know where you should post a thread.

Good luck!
