Three years ago, on Memorial Day, I was driving over to my father's house, and a small bird flew into my car via the open window. The poor thing look scared half to death when I pulled over and tried to shoo it out of my car. Half an hour later, and after opening all my doors, I finally succeeded in setting it free. Could this be a sign?

A sign of what?

As for my personal opinion, no I don't think it's a sign of a deity or totem or anything...but I'm not you. I think it's up to you to decide and gauge things. It just sounds like nature, birds will fly into open car doors/windows...it happens. When my car was being unused, some wasps used the door for their nest...not a sign, just nature being nature. We also had some sort of hawk-like bird crash into our back window...just an accident.

Now, perhaps if you asked for a sign, from say Aphrodite and a sparrow (one of her sacred birds) flew into your hand shorty after, than I might take that as a sign. For me signs have to be...more and stand out. For example, a few years ago I went outside in my backyard and asked The Morrigan for a sign, I looked down and was surprised to see a crow feather right under my foot, hidden beneath some grass. I just happened to wander to the one part of the yard that had a hidden crow feather, after asking a goddess associated with crows/ravens for a sign. To me, that was a sign. :)

Signs are usually repetitive, imo....not just a random thing. If something or someone is trying to get thru, it usually does so more than once.

Honestly, all that I think happened is that a bird flew into your car. Random, sure...a sign? Nah.

I believe the technical term you're looking for is "cosmic 2x4." :hahugh:

That was quite a pretty event that you remember. To answer your question about it being a sign, I guess it depends really. What you were planning to do that day might've held significance. What type of bird was it?

Some people associate birds with the spirit realm. Some departed souls of the dead are believed to return on the mortal plane in the form of birds, usually as small birds like sparrows. As the day was about the memorial then it could've been a sign intending to be positive. This is not to say the bird you saw in your car was a soul (an actual bird IMO) although it represents the symbol of the day.

There are some strange and wonderful things that happen in nature. To witness some of it is a "once in a lifetime" experience. I've encountered many of them.

It could be a sign that you should invest in air-con rather than drive with your windows open?
