Ok basically I need some new reading material and am wondering who has some good suggestions for me.

What I am looking for is an up to date comprehensive collection of ancient egyptian literature and/or stories of the Netjeru.

An example of this is "The literature of ancient egypt" edited by William Kelly Simpson. I love this book, it is full of great works, pretty much all the 'kemetic classics'. The edition I have however was published in 1973 and I am wondering if there is a collection that is newer, and perhaps includes more? The Simpson collection is very readable and has very concise editorial notes, which is important because I would also like to have something I can share with others when they ask me 'so what is it you believe in exactly?' Also I would like something that is fairly cheap, under $30 if possible. Trust me I have seen many of the books on the House of Netjer reading list, and I can't currently afford to pay the big bucks for my reading material.

Anyway all suggestions are welcome, I'm an avid reader so hit me with your favorites.

I wouldn't call them favorites, but I didn't want to start a thread just to post them. There are a few ebooks offered by Google that explore some gods, they might be helpful in research.

Thoth, the Hermes of Egypt: a study of some aspects of theological thought in ancient Egypt-- Here for free PDF download via GoogleBooks. (http://books.google.com/books?id=l15bAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=thoth+hermes+of+egypt&source=bl&ots=gP8t2Ahzx9&sig=5UkqVPoeyxnunBIxHwffAWkvy_k&hl=en&ei=ejn_TLDoGYi8sQOPzvGvCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CC8Q6AEwAw#v=onepage&q&f=false) Has a lot of epithets and other info, such as his association with creation, the moon, etc.

There's also:
Horus in the pyramid texts-- Here for free PDF download via GoogleBooks. (http://books.google.com/books?id=ZS4DAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=horus+in+pyramid+texts&hl=en&ei=yzn_TKuJK4qisAOQrsywCw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCoQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false)
Has epithets and some info.

& for info about many gods, this book it's too bad (Preview only):

Thanks for your suggestions, I have had a couple of references to Wilkinson's work now, I suppose he should be one of my next purchases!

And always nice to find a few free downloads to read as well. Good stuff!

From what I understand, the most complete collection of Kemetic literature is here:
http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Egyptian-Literature-Middle-Kingdoms/dp/0520248422/ref=pd_sim_b_3

It's three volumes. And while all three together would be more than $30, one volume is about $20 or so, so it might be worth looking into.
