Gordon at Runesoup - http://runesoup.com/2010/11/seasonal...ct-your-magic/ - is discussing how weather affects his magic, calling it seasonal magic disorder.
I found the post interesting, because it made me aware of one of my own seasonal trends I hadn't realized had a seasonal tide. I always feel the pull of Odin and the Runes strongest in the fall and winter - specifically the runes. Beyond that I do delve into the murkier side of things throughout the winter as well.
How about you? Do you have a seasonal pull?

it's summer time and fall for me. i think it depends on the person's seasonal preferences too. a warm gorgeous summer night or crisp cool fall day is downright magical.

Ditto
I always suspected that because the winter is [or was] harder to make it through some sort of survival mechanism kicks in and the pull towards Asgard was part of it

The cold weather makes it hard for me to even want to get out of bed let alone work any magic. SO I need my coffee ..
Coffee is usually right before the ritual bath.(shower). lol

You just gave me a new perspective I haven't considered. I like it!

I can't view the link. :(
I definitely notice the seasons and weather affecting everything from my magic to my mood. Windy days especially brings out the Discordian in me.

I definately feel that the weather affects me. Especially since there's so much of it! For instance this summer I barely read/did anything related to my religion/practice -- as a result I felt a little guilty, but I was getting out there instead having a laugh. I realised as the winter appraoched that I felt myself being drawn back to my studies and a more developed practice -- I realised then that I'd followed the same pattern every year since coming to Paganism a few years ago (I discovered Paganism in the Winter time even then). Winter for me, is a time to turn inward spiritually and be more disciplined.

Likewise. Why would anyone label the seasonal changes a disorder? The one constant factor of this existence is change.
