Ok, I hope that this is in the right place. If not I am sorry.
In the past year I have had two different dreams. Now I usually don't dream of deities so these dreams really stood out too me. Now the one really wierd thing is that they were both Hindu deities and as far as I know I have no connection to that pantheon. One featured the God Ganesha and the other was Kali.
The first one I remember being a bit frightened and was hiding and I saw outside a window a elephant headed man, who I immediately connected with Ganesha. I woke up completely startled.
Now the next one was far more confusing. I think I read a long time ago that Kali can be helpful with getting rid of demons, now I could be wrong I have read alot here lately. Well in the dream I was being attacked by something I could not see that was trying to pull me through a doorway. I was trying to recite the Lords prayer and call on Jesus. I used to be a somewhat Christian I have moved beyond this religion and in my waking state this isn't something I would normally do. Nothing was happening.
I remember feeling really scared and was afraid that I was in Big trouble when She showed up. I can't tell you how I knew it was her but she got rid of the demon for me. She didn't look like most artwork depicts her, she was a very pretty Indian women who was kind and said a something I can't remember before I woke up.
Now, I realize that most dreams are just dreams. But it felt important and I would love too know if this was really Kali and Ganesha trying to get my attention. I did go out and buy a statue of Ganesha because I really do like him, but I haven't done much else. I would love your thought on this and what steps would be could to try and further a relationship if it really was some kind of contact.
Sorry this was so long and if it was in the wrong place!

Cheers,

Danielle

The dreams that I regard as contact have a peculiar feeling to them, a sense of something other being in them than that are not the contents of my own unconcious and a scary feeling of being overwhelmed

I don't know what to make of yours with any certainty but when things don't line up with the images you have already formed of them it's generally a sign of authenticity

I once had visions of Ganesh intruding in to meditation which was puzzling because I have little connection with the Hindu pantheon and even less with good fortune

Then I rembered the storefront Hindu 2 blocks over

If you want to carry this ball where ever it may lead you then by all means do so

Oh yeah the dream with Kali defenately had a certain feeling to it. I am usually pretty aware of my dreams, I haven't gotten really good at lucid dreaming yet, but I have always been able to wake myself up when I start getting too overwhelmed with my dreams. But that particular dream was nuts. I remember after trying to recite the lords prayer and realiszing it wasn't working I kept trying to wake myself up, which wasn't working. That's about when She showed up.
Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Danielle

I don't know if this is any help, but I dream about deities a lot, but I don't see it as meaning anything. I usually don't remember much about the dreams, though. Just little flashes from them. Yours seems a lot more vivid than mine are.
If you think it was contact and it felt like contact it probably was.

Good luck! :)

Sounds like you do have a connection with that pantheon. This is the kind of dream that I would take seriously. It sounds like one or the other of these gods are reaching out to you, and that's not something that happens every day.

I find (just in my personal experience) that dreams that I remember with more clarity are more important, and may signify something. I'd advise researching the gods/goddesses and looking deeper into it.
Good luck!
